Guess it’s just the timing, I’m VG and a ST holder and I’ve never had an issue getting tickets for a game at Phase 7. Just log in at 11am and bought them each time

Email the club and see what they reply back to you. 

Every time we have a popular away game in London the same out arguments come out again and will do once again when the tickets are announced for QPR and Millwall.

If you want to go to these big games then the vast majority on here know what to do. Plenty of opportunities to get your points up when the  first 2 away games in September go on general sale from tomorrow. 

Who knows maybe the 2 per person thing will be no more next season but I can guess there will be moans and groans about that when people still can’t get a ticket.

If you are VG you had the chance to get a ticket at 11 am in phase 7 when there were still many tickets left and there were still some available for phase 8, so your complaint would be a non starter.

The club ARE selling tickets to those with priority and those who have priority can purchase TWO tickets. 🙄
I don't know how many points you have but as a VG member you could purchase tickets at phase 7 which gave you priority over others.

There was 400 left allegedly Red, and probably my category was the largest, at 13.30 they were gone. And before anyone states that I am moaning, yes I am, because I know that the second ticket allocation is what denies me the chance to see my team play and I am at the Valley every home game and pay my Valley Gold Membership, so I actually believe the club is now in the wrong. 

But your category was available at 11am. Not to sound harsh, but it was your choice to wait until 1:30 to purchase (obviously you might have been in a meeting etc.), you can’t expect the club to hold back your one ticket until you’re ready to buy it, as for all the club knows, you aren’t going to buy that ticket.

You have to have extra points by buying away tickets. They are worth more than buying home tickets . I know some people who buy away tickets, don't go, but it boosts there points.

This has Away League matches at 10 points each, the same as Home games. (Mind you, this has Home Cup games at 10 points compared to 5 points for Away Cup games but I'm sure I've only got 5 for the Chelsea FA Cup game last year ... I'll see what my LP total goes up to after the Spuds game)

But it's not illegal, the priority entitles you to two tickets at the appropriate phase if they're available. They were available for Valley Gold holders at 11am and people just got there first.

A season ticket does not offer priority tickets for away games but it gives you 230 points + 50 points if bought in the early bird period.

I’m not quite sure what the problem is . I’m not a season ticket holder but I’m a Valley Gold member and managed to get West Ham and Tottenham tickets (2) when my stage was open , very easily. It doesn’t matter how many points you have . At Stage 7 there were tickets available at 11am if you are a Valley Gold member.

Probably not. My view is that the club should be promoting VG by offering incentives, it's extra money that the club wouldn't get. 
TBH, I'm not up to date with what points a season ticket gives you, but I like the suggestion that VG gives you a chunk of points, perhaps equivalent to 75-100% of a season ticket. 

My logic is that everyone knows in advance where they stand, you get a full season of home matches in return for a season ticket, whereas VG is really a donation if you don't have priority for tickets, and I'm confident that the scheme could die next season if not handled carefully.

I take all of your points and agree with most but please tell me, who was the second ticket for? you can't sit on two seats can you ? A priority is for a ticket and absolutely whoever deserves a ticket should have one, I don't believe you have a priority for two. I have written to the club for clarification, lets see what occurs. I have asked them politely to remove their blurb about priority ticketing as it's incorrect and illegal.

VG does give priority - people in Phase 8 today would have been ST holders for the last two seasons yet VG only (someone who may never have been to a Charlton game before) allowed purchasing at Phase 7 (and you could have got tickets at Phase 7).

Giving higher priority (see above) doesn't mean a guarantee you'll get tickets, it just increases your chances. The sort of priority you seem to be looking for would be VG over anything else.

It will be interesting to see how many of these people buy tickets for the upcoming away games at West Brom, Stoke, Cardiff, Burnley & Middlesborough for example when the away allocation will be quite large & will probably go straight on general sale.

I agree completely but the issue with the ticketing policy is the ability to buy a second ticket which could be given to someone who barely goes to a home game (if at all) let alone an away game.

The priority you are given is for one ticket, not two. The latter being given potentially to someone who does not have enough, if any, loyalty points. 

Even if they come back and say it is allowable, it doesn't make it morally right.

Not really sure how anyone missed out at the valley gold stage. I went on around 1pm, I have valley gold but wanted 5 tickets. Was able to put 5 in my basket but only allowed to assign 2 tickets under my season ticket/valley gold account. My 3 sons all have season tickets but couldn't assign them until 2 o clock. I emptied my basket but came back at 2pm, hopeful of being able to get 5 together still. I clicked on the find me seats box and put 5 in and it found me another 5 tickets together (different to the original 5). 

Obviously I feel bad for those who missed out but I'm assuming anyone who missed out with their Valley Gold, may not have it correctly registered to their FAN ID.
