When Lloyd Jones scores an overhead kick after a good long throw from Carey which the West Ham defence were inept at clearing you felt a positive result may happen as it felt so freaky.
As just 7 minutes had gone was it too early as we had come back from a goal down against Derby ?
Great start but another possible 93 minutes with AT in both halves.

When a team have 73% possession like the Hammers had, we were never going to win by just scoring 1 goal unless the football gods were on our side like at Middlesbrough.  A foul not being given against Leaburn when many whistle blowers would've, led to CAFC 2nd goal by TC who in 3 matches has gone from not good enough, to Ronnie Moore praising him. Wonders will never cease!

The Deity is still with Charlton as we go 2-0 up, then the obvious East end storyline occurs as West ham score and old boy Coventry does a handball.
West Ham are going to get out of Jail and recent England player Bowen will pick the ball up and score and we end up with a Desmond. Lord how can you be so cruel.

But no, Taty the Argentinian cheat decides to take the Penalty and the Football Gods are enraged and Conor Coventry can say "Thank you Post" and Charlton have done the old 1-2 at the Taxpayers stadium.

Danny Spanner McNamara give Taty Castellanos the 🖕🏻and happiness is felt by all Addicks.

It was never a free hit as that will be in the cup against Spurs.

    Amen 🙏🏻

The secret to a beautiful garden in the Southern hemisphere

When sitting in front of Charlton full replay  every Sunday morning, make sure not only to go on and watch all other chamionship highlights, oh no...
I know it isn't easy cause you're dying to go out there to lend a hand, but no, do go on that extra mile, stay on for, league 1 league 2 and even (for those real green hands among us), dare we suggest the tourist's premiere porn !!!

    Then..... (and only then !!!)
Step outside for magical viewing in that magnificent early afternoon light...

    * For best results, repeat every Sunday untill (late😉) May.

    We won hey..?😄😄

    Let's check again

What a result and hopefully we keep the momentum into next weekend, as that match is definitely winnable.
Nine points from nine would be a great start.

Got back home with my West Ham friend who took plenty of banter on the chin and then we went out for dinner at our local Italian. The night improved, a large table of West Ham fans walked in 😂

Half 5 in the morning and I’ve hardly slept - ears are ringing, legs are aching, voice is gone, eyes streaming, pockets empty (don’t even get me started on the prices!!!!). What a day, what an atmosphere. Can’t wait to travel to North London on Wednesday to do it all again!

The worst thing about the game for me was the stream barely worked for the whole 2nd half. Fortunately saw the missed penalty and last few minutes. Looking forward to having to watch the 2nd half back tomorrow.
I thought that was a problem with my WiFi, but had the same for the last match too.
I won't bother switching everything else off in future.

    From Jarrod Bowen:

We knew what kind of game plan it was going to be [from Charlton]. We knew they were going to have a lot behind the ball and defend and try and hit us on the counter attack and obviously set-pieces and long throws are really important [for them].

“Like I said, we didn't deal with it well enough to keep the ball out the back of our net to give us that opportunity to go on and have our chances and score the goals, but ultimately it was not enough.”

Even better that they knew we were strong in counter attacks and set pieces, but still couldn’t stop us.

Danny Dyer, Ray Winstone, David Gold, Russell Brand, Keira Nightly, James Cordon, Barack O’Bama, Lennox Lewis, Pixie Lott…..can you hear me? Your boys took one hell of a beating!
I'd leave the rest but I'd take Keira nightly.
  • Watching the highlights and that dive from 'Taty' was absolutely embarrassing. Cheating c*nt should be fined and retrospectively banned. The only way we'll eradicate it from the game.

Was in the West Ham end, shite stadium and fans were fuming.

LJ overhead kick, did not see that coming, what a fucking player. Our fans were quality! Saw this on the way out too 😂😂😂

  • When was the last time the same two players scored in the opening two games!

King Arthur may well turn out to be the player to take us to the next level. Our defence was already good, but he brings a calmness, can pull off  worldies when required, and is such a huge presence, which I think contributed to the penalty miss.
Too early to get too excited, but if we can get JRS in, with TC finally firing on all cylinders, and with Ouma, Ramsay, Kelman and Edwards to return, we could end up having a great season.

I'll be straight, there will be a vlog for this, but, what should have been a celebration was a bit of a crap day for me.

I've been heckled by a total of 3 Charlton fans at games for vlogging. I've had one harass me for recording at the game (in the end he shut up when I confronted him), I've had one person repeatedly trying to disrupt my vlog and outside call me a c**t, to which I had to have a word (the lad apologised as you can imagine) and last season I had someone deliberately throw a pint on me, which I thought was an accident but when viewing footage back, saw the bloke blatantly aim it at me. Let it go cause I thought, football is full of twats.

Now today someone called me a pedophile and his reasoning was "because I capture young Charlton fans on vlogs". Now I didn't let it go, I spoke to him, but it got to a point where I just thought the only solution here feels like planting one on him.

I couldn't help but look at this guy, half my size and wondering what to do.

I walked away, but I have to say, it's the first time ever I have genuinely been rattled. Such a henious thing to be called and put a real downer on the vlog and day.

I expect to go to Millwall away etc and get grief, but I cannot fathom that someone who supports the same club as me would say something so sinister, and I am genuinely struggling to process it.
Sounds like a proper dickhead. Fuck him love your vlogs and can’t wait to see this one. Plenty of bellends out there trying to fuck up good people and good things. This rate you could do a cunty 11 by the end of the season, this guy can have the captains armband

My wet spam mate was at the match and said we were shite and they were all over us. Said the ref was a cheat disallowing 2 goals for them and should have given them another pen. Reckoned our goals were both very lucky
I was sat in the West Ham end along the touchline. The first one, the ref clearly whistled well before the ball went in and the defenders had stopped. The other one, the ball was clearly out for a goal kick.

The penalty was a bit harsh but it wasn't point blank, Coventry was a good 4 or 5 yards away.

Perfect away performance, defended well and threatened on the break.
I think the mistake people are making with the penalty, even Jones, is not seeing it correctly. There was an outsretched arm but the ball didn't hit it. It hit Coventry from close range on his hand in front of his body.

On the subject of penalties or non penalties, that dive from Taty was obsene. It feels a yellow card is not an ample punishment.
  • West Ham fans I know are generally down to earth but the ones on social media.. my word.  Talk about entitled knob heads. Crying about losing to Charlton as though they are Liverpool and we are Bromley! Embarrassing.

I didn't do the obligatory post-match "Can you hear me?" post as others had already done the honours.

But, to be blunt, they were fairly poor.

    So, here is my offering:

"Alf Garnett.  Anne Boleyn.  Ronnie and Reggie Kray.  Reg Varney.  Can you hear me ... ?"
You need a prime minister to end it. Perhaps David Cameron

Brazilliance, as Fletcher would say "Don,t let the b@st@rds get you down.
A quote from ricky Gervais,s after life that might make you smile.
When a young boy rudely calls Tony (played by Ricky Gervais) a "pedo," Tony fires back: "I'm not a pedo, and if I was, you'd be safe, you tubby, little, ginger cnut!"

At the game. Fantastic performance from start to finish and thought we had blown it at the end. Deserved victory as we got stuck in and played some decent stuff for the first hour.

Not going to give anyone special praise as they were all great, but I thought the keeper made a big difference. First time for years I feel we have got someone decent between the sticks.

I know some have took the piss out of the hammers but I must say, they were all decent in the pub and walking to the ground, and after wards. None of this we should beat the likes of you. More like we'll done you did a great job but we were rubbish.

    Keep it up boys.

From what i've seen most seem to be more annoyed with Nuno, his tactics and the performance.

Let's be honest they've spent 20 of the last 21 years in the PL, won a trophy 3-4 years ago, get 60k for home games and were pre-season title favourites. Of course they'd turn up expecting to win.

Stadium  is soulless and fair play to the hammers fans to the right of us, that joined in our song of snagging the stadium. What the he'll is that massive gap behind the goal at our end all about.

I will add the stewards we're excellent,  and liked the way after the game they were lined up to direct you to the station.

That penalty decision was cheating wasn't it? Great performance by the lads.
Felt the ref actually had quite a good game too overall, certainly beat my expectations. He's not known for doing us any favours (Andrew Kitchen). Not letting Mwamba on the pitch was mystifying. Pen had to be given as Coventry's arms were up.
I think the rule is that they give a pen if your arms are up to make yourself big, to block a shot. I don’t think that applies in this case, as his movement was entirely natural.
    I could be wrong though.
A penalty kick is awarded if a defender deliberately touches the ball with their hand or arm, or makes their body unnaturally bigger by positioning an arm away from a natural body movement.’
