The Hammers bubble was firmly burst yesterday, there will be a fair few Eastenders waking up to the reality that the championship is no walk in the park. Addicks had just 5% of 62K attendance but the only voices to be heard came from the Valley.Very early days but getting pts in the bag now will come very useful at the business end of the season, hopefully we will be looking upwards.Really pleased with new additions to the team, Arthur looks class, lots to be positive but let’s also be prepared to weather some storms this season, as injury’s, fatigue and other teams finding their stride will come into play, for now the sun is shining and we’re all in a Happy Valley, look fwd to Wednesday at the Lane. So proud of the team and the club. We couldn’t have played the game or the occasion any better.
TC absolutely frightened the life out of them the whole game and was phenomenal. As I said last week, he is going to be worth major major money very soon. The missed penalty at the end was the icing on the cake - it still would have been a good point, but just so much sweeter to come away from there with 3.
Nathan Jones brilliant once again.
All pressure off for Spurs and hoping for wholesale changes before a very important home game against Preston, which is by far and away the bigger priority.7 -

Up there with one of the best that one!Yes it’s not a football ground, but It’s still an impressive arena and ridiculous it’s hosting Championship football. Huge gap between lower and upper away sections means it feels like you have two separate sets of away fans. The view from the lower was excellent and the atmosphere right up there, though suspect in such a large bowl it didn’t carry as well as it sounded there.Whether it was just our block, but overall never shown a ticket so much in my life. Show going out, show going in. With my nerves I must have shown ticket about 20 times in the ground. Despite this there were still 100 people in the aisle!

When you concede so much possession though, you do still need a bit of luck on your side.The penalty was a beautiful moment. Full acceptance we’d blown the win. Yet from the moment it left his boot we were right in line and knew instantly it wasn’t going in.The EFL TV guy said last night since doing the show he’d never seen a set of away fans so jubilant from a win and I’m not suprised, was bedlam.After the celebrations got away better than expected and was back in the pub in Bexley by 6.10.

It’s a dreadful place to watch football and actually very difficult to get any kind of atmosphere going (positive or negative). I was expecting a crowd of that size going 2-0 down to little old Charlton to be a borderline mutiny but it was just a mix of apathy and mostly silence. What a fantastic day. Being 8 rows from the front and it was nowhere near as bad as people were making out being miles away the pitch.Again a good performance from all of them and Campbell already on as many goals as the whole of last season. His numbers needed improvement on and already he has stepped that up6

I've been heckled by a total of 3 Charlton fans at games for vlogging. I've had one harass me for recording at the game (in the end he shut up when I confronted him), I've had one person repeatedly trying to disrupt my vlog and outside call me a c**t, to which I had to have a word (the lad apologised as you can imagine) and last season I had someone deliberately throw a pint on me, which I thought was an accident but when viewing footage back, saw the bloke blatantly aim it at me. Let it go cause I thought, football is full of twats.
Now today someone called me a pedophile and his reasoning was "because I capture young Charlton fans on vlogs". Now I didn't let it go, I spoke to him, but it got to a point where I just thought the only solution here feels like planting one on him.
I couldn't help but look at this guy, half my size and wondering what to do.
I walked away, but I have to say, it's the first time ever I have genuinely been rattled. Such a henious thing to be called and put a real downer on the vlog and day.
I expect to go to Millwall away etc and get grief, but I cannot fathom that someone who supports the same club as me would say something so sinister, and I am genuinely struggling to process it.
And regarding the bit in bold, I really can’t fathom how a normal person would reach such a conclusion.
Makes me wonder if maybe they’re projecting…
Anyway.

Honestly, not as bad as I thought it would be. Was roughly halfway up the top tier, the rake of the seats is decent up there so the view is unobstructed. Photos make the view look a lot further away than it actually is. It's also safe standing too in the upper I didn't realize but wasn't an issue. Honestly though while not ideal being so far from the pitch it's still a much better view than the Selhurst Park away end and a few others i've been in before. Atmosphere from the home team was awful, at 2-0 if we had scored a third goal I reckon 75-80% of the ground would have emptied out.3 -
Spent the last week banging on about how good Okonkwo is to anyone who'd listen. Been watching him ever since he was loaned out to Crewe a few years ago. 8 saves, with the stattos saying he prevented 1.07 xGOT (expected goals on target. That signing is a coup. Very happy with how Mwamba dealt with the pressure, and little TC looked top class out there today.15

The whole story of the attendance yesterday - why was it so well attended? They didn’t sell out every week in the Prem did they? I love Charlton, but I’m not naïve enough to think we’re a box office attraction!Is it that West Ham fans thought they were in for a season of brushing everyone aside? If so, I wonder what their next home attendance will be, seeing as they’ve been brought down to earth with a bump.3

Think they were (officially) pretty much 62.5k for every home game last year.
