People saying the 1st half was dull/ boring etc. surely know enough about the way NJ approaches games by now, he 1st of all tries to win the battle, don’t lose the game early on, if we win in the 94th minute that’s ok. I didn’t find it dull, i thought we were pretty comfortable and switched it up after the break. Be as dull as people say as you like if we win games, don’t think we were by the way and tend to wonder what people expect.7

I think Jones would be perfectly happy with the first half. He likes to frustrate the opposition early on, which we did. Could still see Carey starting Weds.
So many outstanding performances today including players already written off by some fans.
I’m not getting carried away. I think Preston and Derby will struggle this year and West Ham will take a while to adjust. I’m also a bit worried about midfield, Chalobah will be injured a lot and Mwamba and Ouma are still raw.6 -
Good performance and we looked comfortable closing the game out. Preston fans I spoke to were disappointed not to sign TC.

Glad we got the three points, but we found that hard work against a bottom 3 team, we were lucky they missed 3 or 4 clear cut chances, once again we have no midfield control, and when we try to play tippy tappy football out from defence we find our selves in trouble to often and then have to just chance it with a rushed hoof up the field.8

Fought hard to survive last season and took it to the penultimate weekend to secure safety
Transitioned to a new formation and trying to improve our attacking approach
It may all come crashing back down to earth and we lose our next 2, such is the nature of this league, but these points are absolutely vital. Target 55, I’ll keep repeating it as it will be a long hard season, and safety is paramount, but hats off to the owners, NJ and the team for what they’ve achieved this month and over the last 2 seasons.
I’m yet to go to a league game so hoping I’m not going to ruin it for everyone when I go to the QPR game Weds week, but well pleased for all the fans that have got to the games and seen the wins, they deserve it
Little signs are important and we’ve persistently struggled against Preston for years, particularly at this level. They’re a typical mid table, established Championship team. Today we beat them. On the opening day we came from a goal behind to win. That wasn’t us last season.The next two are tough, our squad is stretched already, but if Stoke lose to Norwich on Tuesday, there’s pressure on them when we play them

My son and I tried to get them from the club shop after the game today. The only sizes they had left were S and 4XL or 5XL. None in M, L or XL so we were unsuccessful. Well said - our biggest problem is squad depth, made worse with injuries, but NJ is doing an incredible job getting the best out of this squad. I’d bite your hand off if we get 3 points out the next two
if we can get a few quality loan signings to get us through the injuries that would be great. At least one defender, another midfielder and maybe a forward will help us from overplaying our key players.
Leaburn and TC are now proper championship players and Muamba and Mbick have real potential.
Amazing atmosphere at the match today, with the crowd well behind the team.
