Firstly a good point against a stronger group of players. Defence solid. But no creativity and such poor passing throughout the team.

I don’t think there is an answer. We’re a poor team at this level and will likely be relegated. As a season ticket holder who goes to a fair number of aways too I hope that’s not the case but the writing is starting to appear on the wall. Maybe we can have a January window to turn it around .golfaddick said:

You are missing the point. Macnamara was at right wingback, not wing. Neither Alli nor Nkeng have shown they can play in this position, where you have to defend as well as attack. The problem is neither can Macnamara, who is a defender. We switched to 5 at the back today because we were under the cosh. 4 at the back does not work because we have no effective 10.golfaddick said:

A solid first 15 minutes but we were pretty pants after that.
I think Mcnamara ending the game at right wing was a weird choice, and TC was clearly spent, but Alli mustn't be up to much in training if he can only get on for 3 mins at the end.
Knibbs and Kelman did nothing to keep up the pressure that we built up leading up to the big TC chance, and it felt like the game was always going to peter out after that.
A point gained but yet again were ultimately undone by an individual mistake by us rather than a glorious piece of play by the opponent
We spent all summer planning to play wingers & although we didnt manage to sign JRS we did bring in Alli and Nkeng...............but we end up in the last 20 mins relying on our rightback to attack & put crosses in.
We need to stick to our pre-season thinking & play with 2 wingers. And play with a natural striker (Kelman or Godden) - Mbick is NOT the answer.
We are now in a position where we cannot play 4 at the back effectively because we have no10, and we can't do five at the back either because we only have one wingback, Mesik.
StuckThe people on this forum rating our transfer window as an 8/10 in August were demented, as is now becoming clear.10 -
Not one mention of TCs miss at the end? Or double miss if the truth be known.
Look clueless and leader less, midfield is league 1 at best and Jones thats Nathan, is a clown.5 -
Plenty of advice to not get too down, but I literally felt my life blood draining away after 15 minutes. I think the crowd's did too, judging by the dip in atmosphere.
It is the same old, same ole, with the backs playing ball between themselves in front of the keeper, the midfield scrabbling away - invariably losing possession - often with unforced errors, and the forwards choking on the lack of service received - save for the occassional aerial bomb to chase.
It improved somewhat after the subs in the second half with a goalmouth scramble which should have produced for us, an excellent freekick from Knibbs and a tussel between Mesik and the much larger Adebayo which could have been most entertaining had it been allowed to develop ... my money was on Mesik btw.
I dunno maybe it's me, I just want to see us put a team to the Charlton sword occasionally,

Then throw in a team that might get a points deduction, like Sheff U, and I think we'll be safe this season.
It wont be pretty & we'll grind out draws like today, but I think we'll get 52-55 points and finish a couple of places above the relegation places.
And I'm not banking on the January transfer window helping us out. Owners "looking for investment" wont be putting too much of their own money in.

Grant and koumetio were good.
we had a good first 10 mins then just lost it.Our strikers cant buy a goal. Even when kelman comes on your sort of thinking hmmmm he wont score.Feel like we are one playmaker and one goalscorer away from being a very good team.Burnley just smashed watford. And watford had their injured players back on the bench… so this month isnt going to get any easier!1 -

Started well and positive, but once Brizzle found our weaknesses - midfield plus Edwards - we were in trouble. Switching formation worked and we could have scored late on. Draw was fair though.0

Koumetio solid defensively but looks like he’s never kicked a football in his life before .
we’re hanging on and that’s the best we can hope for
scum above us in the table and I can’t see us reversing that for a good while yet .
Will we ever win again
huff and puff but minimal class out there
Lee Ryan Blue was there today and very invested in the game .
lots of Chinese looking punters in the directors box (more investment maybe 🤷)
they ran out of Guiness in the lounge pre match

My thoughts:
1. Kometio is a massive upgrade on Binden.2. We need a #10. Imagine how much of an upgrade someone like Twine would make us.
3. Skipp and Coventry shouldn’t play together imo - both are defensive players. We don’t have a lot of choice right now but it really shows (at least imo) how badly we needed a player like Holsgrove (if he was who we wanted) and how sad it was we ended up with Chalobah considering his injury record.2 -
Totally agree, just back after a 200 mile round trip and myself and a friend going for the first time enjoyed. Definitely an improvement on the Cardiff game and we made more chances than we have for a while. Agree with the comments about Josh and Micah, both looked off the pace. Probably a fair result on the balance of play but at times we made a good side look ordinary rather than the other way roundYanntheman said:Bit surprised by the mostly negative comments at the start of the thread.
Thought we were good for the first 15 mins or so, then poor until around 55/60 when changing to the 352 brought us back into it. We were the better team after that.
Definitely good value for a point and could, and maybe should, have nicked it.
Quite enjoyed it as well and think the boring to watch comments are a bit over exaggerated (for this game in particular, not in general).

Knibbs free kick was decent, hopefully he gets a few more opportunities, not like we’ve got a tonne of options anyways!First game back after that long break Could have been a lot worse.
i liked Skipp and Cov ar first and thought it could develop, but it hasn’t 😂3 -
I must have been watching a different game because we made very few chances. As far as I can remember there was......RodneySe7Trotter said:

• The goal
• TC's chance
• Knibbs free-kick
In addition Grant had a shot in the first half that was deflected over & Kelman had a shot that he didnt hit cleanly that I think was deflected.
Against Cardiff we also scored, had the chance Grant had that he should have passed & a chance for Kelman.
Not much in it I would say. And definitely not good enough for 90+ mins1 -
Question is, what is the priority? Everyone is saying about needing a 10, but we still have a family lacklustre midfield that aren't particularly dynamic and rarely create for the front players. Maybe as the full squad comes back and gets fit, we will see a better synergy, but for now, there seems to be a disjointed team out out each week .Sword65pf said:

I’m not convinced that all of those teams are definitely worse than us. We had a great start to the season, which increasingly appears to be based on a player who will play very limited minutes for us. I think the bottom is going to be a bunch of teams (the ones you’ve identified + Blackburn and us) and I’d be surprised if we weren’t amongst the bottom three. That’s based on watching the majority of our matches in person this season.golfaddick said:

We are playing two defensive midfielders unable to create, the 10 would give us a chance to keep the ball higher up the pitch and link the midfield to the forwards as they are clearly two completely different departments, we are disjointed throughout the team at the moment. I don’t see that our board has the appetite to spend what is needed on the right player. And that’s without mentioning the right side issue we have. The Prince-e-Paul said:

Bristol City were 1 point ahead of us before today, whereas Burnley, Watford and Norwich are all below us in the table. None of them are opponents we should be fearing.2
