What do you mean? When I was at Bexleyheath a few lads from Picardy did pay a visit and it would have taken more than a NAYO airstike to have stopped them.........
LenGlover, no need to over-react, my dad used to take me to Millwall away when i was only a few years old and ive been to every Palace away game thats happened in my lifetime to my recollection. I take my young nephew to away games now and have never felt the need to keep him away for safety reasons. Football now is so heavily policed theres no need. If theres any serious trouble on Saturday, im sure it'll happen away from the ground.
I'm not saying I expect a full scale riot, but its sad that on saturday the emphasis is on who is and who isn't allowed to go, who'll get marched there in a police escort, who will have a drink at london bridge with police filming them, and who will have to stay in the ground 20 mins after k/o.
its obvious certain people will go there and the slightest possible thing could start a bit of a row, before, during or after the game. if we score, I reckon at least 20 people will run at the palace fans and get over excited, i assume the same will happen in reverse. it happens at most away games when the young'uns get excited. charlton fans smashed the palace seats up last time we played there.....hopefully there won't be enough spare seats to be smashed up!
I'm looking forward to getting in the ground and the atmosphere when the players come out and the game gets underway.

I agree with most of that.
If you don't know the area (obviously doesn't apply at Palarse) though you could easily inadvertently fnd yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time "away from the ground."
The real point from my point of view though, and it might be just because I'm a miserable old git but it's how I feel, is as a decent law abiding citizen I don't want to be herded like cattle or searched and told what I can and can't do and where I can and can't go on one of my days off after a hard weeks work earning money for the exchequer.
Any enjoyment is non-existent in such an atmosphere so, frankly, why put yourself through it and pay that orange twat for the privilege to boot?!
Apart from one small incident after the Play Off match at Selhurst 95/96 I have never been involved in any form of football violence.
However, before that game, as me and my old man and uncle came out of Norwood Junction station I was picked out and had to sign some form in an OB van.
If they are doing a similiar thing on Saturday and Palacehater gets picked out then he is stuffed.

Yeah thats genuine. Its not meant for every supporter, just ones that have been identified as part of a "risk group". ie. ones that have been involved in problems before, even if their involvement was minimal.
It doesn't mean they'll be arrested just for turning up. But if they end up forming part of some rowdy group and it gets a bit yobby it's likely there going to be seen as the aggressors.

Not saying it will be the same, but at the Den a few years back they kept all us horrible west ham fans behind for 45 mins to clear south bermondsey station, escorted us onto a train to london bridge where a walkway of old bill 3 deep formed a tunnel straight down to the jubilee line where a tube was waiting to whisk us to east london. No amount of telling them we lived south of the river would they let us break the escort.
As i said probably won't be the same scale, but i think they might want to walk you to the nearest train station mate so don't expect to be back at your motor in a hurry.
Last time they kept us in, then cherry picked anyone wearing Stone Island, CP, Burberry, Aquasctum and Paul Smith, and escorted that lot back, me and buckshee were wearing Carhatta and North Face, so we weren't picked out
last time they just kept us back for ages and let us one by one so they could film us. There were no police around on the walk back to Norwood junction.

got put in the escort with my mate only being 14 at the time... then had to politely ask one of the officers to be let out because his mum was picking us up and the escort was going past her car lol

be careful there i got lobbed out for being sarcastic (not sure what year we lost 2-0 , i think , live sunday game 10 years agoish) clapping the old bill cos it took 10 of them to take out 1 young charlton fan ....glass half empty got lobbed out as well... i tried to get the coppers number he wouldn't give it to me , i went down to norwood nick the next day to make a complaint and they just didn't give a fcuk....

I know a lot them ended up on a train they didn't want to be on, but the OB were having none of it, it's your getting the train or your getting nicked.

A mason friend of mine told me today that its a high category game due to the so called bad blood between the clubs, The manager of Sainsbury's was warned to expect trouble plus they (the police) are reacting to the rumour that Millwall intend sending a team down to stir it all up. Ive heard it all before to be honest, just go to the game, support the team and hopefully leave the ground celebrating a win. I cant really believe that so many people have been wound up by scare mongering....its the scum for gawd sake at Sellout.
I have obtained a leaked copy of the letter due to be sent out to ALL Palarse fans ahead of their visit to The Valley next February.......

If you choose to ignore this advice, you will be liable to a phone call home to your mum from the arresting police office, particularly if you are seen in circumstances where officers form the opinion that you are likely to make an even bigger fool of yourself. In addition if you travel to this event, and are subsequently charged with an offence, a copy of this letter will be sent to your care worker. An Application will then be made against you for a football banning order under the provisions of the Football Disorder Act 2000 (Preservation of Self Dignity Section) , which will prevent you from attending top class professional fixtures in England and Wales, although you can still attend Palarse games at Selhurst as they do not fall under this category. In certain circumstances we will also ask the court to make an order that you pay our costs of the application, which could be in the region of £25 & our dry cleaning bills, it wasn't cheap getting all that dribble out of uniforms you daft Nigel you.
