BDL is rightly held in high regard here - one season of rent-a-mike in 2007 surely convinced any doubters.
but the guy who does the half-times does not impress. Seems unsure of teams/scores (it's never 'Notts' Forest) and never adds anything of interest (eg wouldn't mention it if one of our lads out on loan has scored). How did he get the gig?

Still not sure why it got resurrected to be honest, I mean - SIX years? Christ, I was just out of nappies back then. Unfortunately I'm back in them again now.
The big danger here regarding feedback, irritations and suggestions, it that the people who do the jobs may say: 'FFS, here we go, there's always some people, always the same people, who're gonna moan whatever you do', and therefore not consider any feedback as in any way valid because they feel criticised, threatened and take it personally. I think this is certainly my experience when feeding back about the player commentary, my email exchanges with BBC London's Jamie Reed were like that, he would brook no criticism, not shift one iota, and probably filed me under 'trouble making tosser' (yeah, could be fair comment). I wonder if there is a way to make improvements in this people driven enterprise without folk taking it too personally?

Maybe if you didn't make it personal in the first place and made the feedback constructively and in private.
Or even if it was valid critism and not repeated again and again.
You clearly have an issue/grudge with BDL and the Charlton Live team. That's your prerogative but personally I think you go way over the top with it.

Henry what you have posted is utter rubbish. 'You clearly have an issue/grudge with BDL and the Charlton Live team' is a mistaken opinion not backed up by evidence. If you are guessing and surmising my motivation, then perhaps you could have a go at guessing and surmising why on earth I would want to have any kind of 'issue/grudge' with BDL and the Charlton Live team. I want player commentary that describes the action, and my post above regarding the pitchside activities says in bold that it is NOT a criticism of BDL. I will let others judge as to the validity of what I post, or even how repetitive it is, or how constructive. As for how much I have posted in private, well I have done so, but as you're not included in that, you'll have to take my word for it.
BDL does a great job, as did BC before him. Proper fans approaching it with the right mix of fan / professionalism.
No idea with volume, not something i've noticed either way. I'm sure it depends entirely where you sit and where the speakers are. If there are clearly unaudible sections, i'm sure they would appreciate knowing where so it can be investigated.
Sometimes a lot of criticism comes across from people who think they can do better. Pretty sure that nine times out of ten they can't.
Was resurrected because i just happened to put pitchside announcer in search engine, i was not meant to be a criticism of BDL but i just happen to think its TOOO LOUD! and actually drowns out the atmosphere a touch at the start of the game. WOOP WOOP

Can we close this thread - my thread - now please.
It's gone way off track and I'm getting annoyed keep getting notifications popping up on my screen every five minutes on a subject I started SIX years ago, and it was never about BDL.
If people want to talk about BDL, the noise, the vegegtarian options on the concourses or fcuk knows what else then let them start their own thread.
AFKA, I don't think a lot of criticism/feedback is because people think they can do better, but rather they want the experience to BE better. Criticism with no suggestions may fit your description, but if there is some kind of pointer as to how, possibly, things could be better isn't that OK? For example if folk say they don't like goal music (which we don't do), but would prefer organic crowd reaction, it isn't a sneaky way of trying to become the DJ, but pretty valid feedback/criticism I reckon.
Don't know about doing better. Wouldnt want the job in the first place. Could we just announce the officials, the sponsors, then get on with it? In case your interested, i think i could manage that.
