F it I'm in, as soon as they sort out thier site to accept switch, I'll sign up.
  • medders you couldnt run a bath!

its not taking switch so ill wait.
  • I'm going to run you all over South London in October pal...!

Says on there they hope to take switch at the end of the month
  • you could gain an extra few foot if you stay in my slipstream. lol
  • I paid my entry money today. *gulp*
  • ive got an idea! all take roller scates and a big tag line. and we can hook it on to ketters shorts as hes a running fanatic!
  • That means there's a risk of Ketter's shorts being pulled down, and I'm sure none of us want to see that!

  • One of you guys said on here, you may be able to get discounted "running shoes" any idea who was? and where they are available?
  • kigelia i think?
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]kigelia i think?[/quote]

    Thanks Suzi.
  • I will speak to where I get mine from when I am back in the office tomorrow.
  • Everyone should have been paid now so if there are anymore participants etc that have signed up then please add your name to this thread.

I'm going to crack on in the next couple of weeks by trying to sort a venue and entertainment post race so i'll keep you updated.
  • If you need any help on the venue West Side I think we can secure Bartrams or a Suite if we ask nicely !
  • I am still waiting for the guy at the London Marathon Store to get back to me on the discount front. However for those of you who don't want to wait to see if I can get any money off then I strongly recommend if you do not know what sort of trainers you need that you go to a proper running shop and get properly fitted shoes.
  • I can recommend Runners Need in Canary Wharf for anyone over this way. Went to see them after my leg op, and they were excellent. They get you on a treadmill and video your feet as you run wearing different trainers, until you find the right pair. No extra charge and the trainers are reasonably priced.

    Runners Need
  • thanks medders. Liverpool street, handy location for me.
  • I've only been to the Canary Wharf one mate, so can't vouch for your one... hopefully they'll be just as helpful

  • Bumped, for Luva Luva to put his name down.
  • NOOOOOOOOOOOO - I'm too fat and unfit and don't want to have a coronary in Greenwich - I don't want to end up in QEH! I know the guys in the mortuary.

Not sure if anyone's up for a quiz night which is what I volunteered to do. It'll be a quiz with a twist.

It really IS worth getting advice on what trainers to use. Visit a specialist shop and ask them even if you only buy something cheap afterwards. They're not all £100+ TCE

Runners need have branches in Holborn and Liverpool st - www.runnersneed.co.uk

In the West End try Run and Become just off Victoria Street SW1 - www.runandbecome.com

In Covent Garden there's the London Marathon Store in Long Acre - www.londonmarathonstore.com

In Beckenham there's the Runners Shop - www.runnersshop.co.uk/

In Dulwich there's up and running - www.upandrunning.co.uk/shops/dulwich.php

In Surrey Quays there's Decathlon, cheaper but you won't get the best technical advice - www.decathlon.co.uk
  • [cite]Posted By: BDL[/cite]NOOOOOOOOOOOO - I'm too fat and unfit.
You've got no problem as far as I can see :)
  • Sorry, but WHY ON EARTH WOULD I WANT TO DO THAT???

Gammy knee, old age and a severe case of the "fook that" 's means I will not be attending this extravaganza. Clearly nobody really cares about that i itself - I'm just trying to make sure we all have a voice on here. Call it the community spirit in me.
  • I'd really like to do this and get involved but would feel a right nugget if I didn't complete it.

Problem being a destroyed left knee, I'll do a bit of treadmill stuff this week and see how I go on a short road run but after the charity game in May I had grief for about 2 weeks with it.

I don't want to put my name down and pull out but I will honestly put a bit of training in and see how it feels. If Medders the fat knacker is willing to try then I have to at least try and keep face!!

Well done Glenn by the way
  • Name: Carter
    Occupation: Bottle job surrender monkey
    Friends: None, now.
  • Lol, very good. However I have killed for less ;-)
  • I'm running as I type mate.

Ooops, not now I'm not - have just pooed myself! (AGAIN!)
