Squeeze have announced a U.K.Tour, their first in 3 years, London date will be at the royal albert hall and tickets will go on general sale tomorrow at 10am.
Some strange venues in there.. Glasgow Concert Hall is so sterile, with wooden seats, bright lights and audience far away from the stage. Worried the lads are acting their age...or even plus ten years..
he wont be singing that shit charlton song will he?
do you mean c-a-f-c-c-a-f-c-c-a-f-c-c-a-f-c
No he means this...
My grandparents lived in Delafield Road Right across from the Valley And when ever Charlton were playing at home The sound of the match would carry As I grew older I went to the ground And joined in with the singing I became one voice in a very big sound It's so great now that we're winning So when Saturday comes There's no time for glums There's no time for losers at all And when the Robins sing It's a happening thing There's no time to take your eye off the ball
Down in the Valley One Two Three Four Five It's in the net So say goodbye
Down in the Valley where the Robins wait Drums keep beating As a new dawn breaks The team's in the tunnel And emotions run high We're back in the running Our dreams are alive
Down in the Valley With the Mums and Dads Kids in the red shirts and the woollen hats The tribe is meeting in the covered stands This is the passion of the Charlton fans It's another great reason why you'd want to be In south east London with the family
At the end of the day We're going to roll up our sleeves It's a game of two halves If you know what we mean We are over the moon Or as sick as a pup And it looks like from here The only way is up
£50 in the Bridgewater Hall - It's like some mental barrier I've got that stops me paying over £30 to see anything. Just because prem games are £50 everything else is too. Get my music on pub circuit nowadays where I used to watch Squeeze! My loss really.
Fantastic gig at Royal Albert Hall tonight. Worked most of the new album into the set, but still did loads of classics - with some fresh interpretations of quite a few

Saw them on Saturday at Southend and they were great. I thought the t-shirts they had on sale were very apt "I'd forgotten how much I like Squeeze " Good mix of old and new songs.
Brilliant re-writing of the last verse of 'Cradle to the Grave' to have a great dig at the guest who just happened to be David Cameron - the subject of Glenn's ire on quite a few tracks from the last decade.
Instead of They say time will wait for no man They say time is on my side I could never make my mind up As it all goes whizzing by
Glenn sang I grew up on a council estate (missed this line) It's what made Britain Great ? there's someone here now Whos responsible for the destruction of the welfare state

Am pretty sure I saw in the Metro that they've got another gig coming up soon.
Saw them at The Apollo a little while back, brilliant.
Once Chris and Glenn have finished their solo work, there's a new Squeeze album in the offing as well apparently.

Cannot get back from Reading in time.
