Faye is back at tyhe Valley and although much is being done to tout him to another club, it looks unlikely that he will be moved on......a role as centre half was rumoured within the club yesterday
A role where he excelled in in the Premiership. And i'm being serious.
If he does play for us next season no doubt he'll be booed continuously. Its not his fault he cost so much money and the club was willing to pay him silly wages.
Will fall on deaf ears but if he does end up playing for us next year lets at least give him a bit of a chance.
Like a lot of people on here I realise that big Chris has his limitations but again I recognise his full hearted committment to the cause. I will be sorry to see Chris leave because fully committed players are always in my book anyway deserving of our support. However, with the number of striking options available to Pardew its obvious we had to lose a couple of front players (Bent) and I guess I am happy with what we have left. Hope we don`t let him move on for silly money. He must be worth at least 350k to a championship side. If Charlton have got a million for Bent and can secure around 350k for Chris the I just hope that we can spend all that and a few quid more on a decent midfielder.
If thats true then I can`t really see any benefit in making the boards opinion public. What a way to encourage McLeod and good information to prospective buyers knowing that we think he is crap and want rid. Great business sense that is. A disafected player thats worth nothing with two years ? left on his contract. Again if true then I think Mr. Murray is starting to lose the plot. I presume he signed the cheque in the first place.

Hang on! Big leap from Wyn Grant reporting RM saying it was a "mistake" (which is not what I recall from the bloggers night in any case) to the club thinking "he is crap" and that he is "disafected" and "worth nothing".
And from this 3rd hand remark reported weeks after the event you conclude Richard Murray is "starting to lose the plot".
Olympics coming up. I hope you are representing the UK in the long jump : - )
I honestly think people are way too critical of McLeod. He came on against Narwich, ran at their defence, won two penalties, they were unable to handle him. He has had far too few games to be able to judge and I for one like him and reckon he will come good.
I think Mcleod could come good too. Needs to reclaim his confidence but some of the goals he scored for Dons were class, didnt matter what league you was in. Hopefully along with Gray Varney ZZ Thomas he can up his game from a poor season last year for Charlton
Hang on Henry. I did say " IF TRUE" and if it is and Mr. Murray has said it was a mistake to buy McLeod then what do you think they mean if its not that they think he aint no good ie crap. Again if true then I stand by what I said and say its a mistake for our board to say it was a mistake to buy a player. Thats all. By the way I was crap at the long jump.
If we can sell Bent and Iwulemo soon we might have the cash freed up to offer Palace a deal for Watson before Birmingham get in there. Besides no one has met their asking price for him yet?!

totally agree. he was played in the wrong way by pards (as an attacking winger more than a central front man). he needs to be played in the middle. he and varney looked a class act together, and when i asked dickson about him he said that izzy is definitely a confidence man. and just when he was getting some confidence he gets sent out on loan. i doubt we'll see him this year as he'll be out on loan again after he comes back from injury. but he will come good.
Chris Iwelumo has completed a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undisclosed sum, Charlton confirmed on Monday afternoon.
The Addicks striker, who ended last term as the club's top scorer with 10 goals, left The Valley after just one season following his arrival on a free transfer from Colchester United the previous summer.
Scotland B international Iwelumo has signed an initial two-year-old contract with the West Midlands club - and could make an early return to SE7 on September 13th when Wolves arrive for a Championship fixture.
all this undisclosed fee rubbish. So, have we been shafted because we are skint ?? or are Wolves embarrased because they have paid 600k+ for a big lump ??

Varney, Gray and Todorov are all likely to excell at this level baring injuries. Dickson, Fleetwood and McCleod can fill in when required.
My pub team want to sign him
Sadly it's a lot of dosh for a boot cleaner.

We took McLeod from MK Dons where he was playing at a level below CCC standard, you have to expect some growth pains when players jump a level or two.
iwelumo
can't deny that BUT how much was up-front and how much add-on's ?
Did give me a brilliant moment in the final minute against Soton which I won't forget, so all the best to him, apart from when he plays us.
