I know there are a lot of keen golfers on here, and even though i'm not a massive player i do enjoy watching the action. Especially when there is a chance to get over the U.S.!

Keep to this thread for all links, news, pictures, comments etc etc.

The only time I will consider watching golf is this - although I don't understand foursomes - 4 balls and what ever else they play -

as long as we spank the yanks in their own back yard will be great.
  • opening ceremony last night,Faldo got Soren Hansen's name wrong how bloody embarrasing.
  • I can only see a European win.

I reckon clean sweep of opening 4somes

A foursome is a bloke and 3 birds and a fourball is 2 blokes and 2 birds

    Brilliant.
  • NSS - Did you also hear him ask McDowell what country he was from? Wittering on about his family was cringeworthy too, particularly his plug for his daughters acting and fashion careers.
  • Ive lumped £50 on USA, sorry.

Still want Europe to win though just like I want Charlton to win even when I bet on a 3-1 Wolves win.

    Reverse psycho something

can't wait, think its going to be a lot tougher than some have been forecasting.

One thing is for sure, our media are dying for Europe to fail so they can get stuck into Faldo

Don't think Poulter will score us one point this weekend.

    Poor selection imo

    random irritations:

    1. Yanks doing the 'USA' chant that is more repetitive / one song, than Southampton's Oh when the saints....

    2. Grown men, white men, as old as my dad, 'touching knuckles'. For fcuk sake, shake hands or pat backs like you are supposed to do !

    random amusements

    1. the yanks booing 'boo weekley'. Didn't have them down for that sort of humour.

I usually have absolutely no interest in golf, but always keep an eye out for the Ryder Cup. I spose it's mainly because I love to see the yanks get shafted - and on their own patch would be even sweeter!

    .

They love doing that crap - The funniest (& IMO most disturbing) time I encountered yanks doing this was at Amsterdam airport - We were in the bar there having a Heineken or 10 on the day Al-Zacharwi was pronouced dead. It was all over the TV's in the bar on CNN - 2 yanks asked the dutch barman to turn the sound up to listen - He did so - After the report they loudly announced the following to the whole bar while "touching knuckles":

"making the world a safer place..........."

I almost spat my beer out.
