really? He's a football manager. Why wouldn't he go to a football match.

He's either scouting for someone already (Man Utd perhaps as he was Fergie's Captain at Aberdeen or Rangers as he was manager there or any of another dozen clubs where he would know someone) or he's just keeping his eye in for his next job.
