I'm up for a game somewhere. If we didn't do an on-line game then don't places like the Casino in Leicester square hire table with dealers?

They do indeed - there is a minimum spend. Not too much either I don't think - I looked at doing it for my birthday.

I'll get in touch again with them to get an idea of costs.

Sounds good WSS. Think it was around £50pp when I last looked?
  • goes without saying i will defo be up for this, whether its online or tim buck 2 lol
  • [cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]Ah - knew I saw a thread about it, and i got the Duck Killer's link right! Anyone played this bounty style before?:

Each player will pay £10 to enter the tournament, you will recieve 2500 and a bounty chip. There is no prizepool as such, the more people that you knock out the more money that you win. You only have to knock one player out to get your stake back. After that you will win £10 for every player that you knock out.

If this is from the Loose Cannon website I've been 3 times in the last 6 weeks and they don't actually do the bounty - it's just on their website. Apparently there is some legal issue that they are sorting out and is taking ages. They still do a cheeky £10 or £20 freezeout on a Friday night and a few sit'n'gos if the demand is there.
  • [cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Dangerous stuff. Don't know how you guys can dip into things like this and not get hooked and seriously in debt.

Come on AFKA, have you ever known a gambler that's not "up a bit" or "just about breaking even".

Well, not me to be fair. But I look at it that I've got an amount to spend and when that goes, it goes. Sometimes you end up, up, but that's a bonus really.
  • I know that Loose Cannons would give us a table with dealers if people are interested??

I would recommend any new to poker first play as much free as you can and until you full understand the game & rules, although free is not a good indication how ppl play for money but gets u used to the game etc

So anyways on that note please feel free to leave any comments, queries or anything
The only thing I'd say is I'd not bother trying to learn on free games, because players behave differently. I'd point people at low stakes/limit games. I sometimes play limit games where a couple of seriously good players participate and it's worth the entry fee just to watch them removing my money. Some folk have a sixth sense and get out of hands that they have no right to, but I guess that's why they're good.

The smartest tip I ever heard was with an Aussie, who logs onto Paddy Power on a Saturday and Sunday morning and fleeces drunken Irish who're just getting in from the pubs/clubs the previous evening and feeling invulnerable. I tried to pull this one with our American cousins, but I reckon they don't hit the booze like us at the weekends :-)
