Well I went down to Canterbury today to and watch my first days live cricket for a very long time.
Kent are not very good.
A total inability to remove the tail and many runs were needlessly given away. When they came out to bat all 4 wickets were given away cheaply. Average bowling and poor batting. Can only see one result for this match.
But the main observation is how on earth county cricket during the week can survive. I sat in the Frank Woolley stand and there must have been about 120 old men there at the start and about 30 when I left just before stumps as I walked back around the ground. In the other parts of the ground hardly anybody. If it wasn't for about 5 schools making a right racket for the first 2 hours before lunch then I reckon there couldn't have been more than 500 people in the ground at most.
Second observation - June and it was bloody freezing.
Comments
Murray Goodwin 129 no.

377-9 and counting.
378 all out.
4 for Haggett 3 each for Shreck and Claydon.
