  • Talk to her

    Life is a miracle

    Pans Labyrinth
  • I'd go with Pan's Labyrinth too.

Also worth a mention: The Lives of Others and Moon.
  • [cite]Posted By: Stig[/cite]I thought the village was really good too. Thinking your watching a period drama, only to find out its set in modern times. I guess because it's a bit different the run of the mill shooting/chasing/fighting/puking/boring movies that tend to get made today. Of course it's incredible that people wouldn't have figured it out and that noone ever came blundering in on them, but so what, it's just a story.
Honestly think it's the worst film I've ever seen, and I've seen some shockers!
    All about opinions though.
  • Anchorman

but quite hard to pick from other peoples choices

    Pan's Labyrinth
    Momento
    Kill Bill (Vol. 1 & 2)
    Lord Of The Rings
    Donnie Darko
    The Butterfly Effect
    Gladiator
    Star Trek

worst: Solaris - wouldn't normally have a problem with George Clooney getting his kit off but truly hated this film
  • Favourites: Kill Bill (vol 1 & 2)
    Donnie Darko
    Sin City
    The Hangover
    Superbad
    The Wrestler
    Dark Knight
  • No Country For Old Men and Das Untergang
  • Best for me was The Lives of Others. Really great film, also liked In The Loop from this year.

  • L' enfant Prodigue was excellent if you like silent movies. First "film" made in Europe too!
  • What about Old Skool with Will Farrell and Vince Vaughn. That was quality well funny.

yer it is mate, few ppl have mentioned it aswell
  • Pans Labyrinth, Capote, Walk the Line and one that I don't think has been mentioned yet - The Libertine.

Worst - 40 days of Night
  • The Hangover would be funny but you could see every single sketch coming a mile off.

I found the wanking baby quite amusing but that was it, other than that everything in that film had been done before. I was honestly gutted I paid to go and see it.
  • In the loop was very good

28 days later is worth a shout too

Black Hawk Down too, Blood Diamond, Buffalo Soldiers and American Gangster worth a watch
  • A few more from me :

    Downfall
    Let The Right One In
    Into The Wild
    Moon
    The Edukators
  • Slumdog Millionaire and Kidulthood... quite contrasting but i liked 'em both.

Worst has got to be Lord of the Rings for me... Orks and dwarves and flarks and smeenorfsploggs running about talking silly! Just what is the appeal?
  • Johnny English...proper Rowan Atkinson comedy.

Step Brothers- Just wouldnt stop laughing!
  • Rise of the footsoldoers
    borat
    ali g
    gangs of new york
    rush hour (all)
    stepbrothers
    football factory

  • lots of great films - I'd forgotten there were so many. Ones not already mentioned:

The Prestige (better than the batman films IMHO)
    Hidden
    The Pianist
    The Departed
    Brick
Primer (a total watch-it-three-times mind-bender that last one).

Funniest film - either In The Loop, Sideways, The Ice Harvest or In Bruges.

    Best supernatural - Pan's Labyrinth

Best sci-fi - Solaris or Minority Report
  • The Pianist has been mentioned a few times, any good?
  • [cite]Posted By: agim[/cite]The Pianist has been mentioned a few times, any good?

Fantastic film yes, but I'd recommend you read the memoir (Wladyslaw Szpilman) first which is one of the best book's I have ever read, especially if you are interested in learning more about the Nazi Holocaust.
  • Kevin & Perry go large

Oops sorry should read more carefully. When was the Battle Royale films made, the Japaneese ones???? I luved them but i think they were done in the 90's
  • [cite]Posted By: Carter[/cite]Kevin & Perry go large

What a film!...Eyeball Paul is one of the best characters ive seen in any film.
  • The time travellers wife/Moon/Pans Labyrinth/Avatar/Diving Bell and the Butterfly/The Departed/Wolverine/The Ugly Truth/Knocked Up and surprise of the decade was District 9....really off the wall and a credit to the producers.
  • In no particular order:

    The Reader
    Match Point
    Closer
    Keeping Mum
    Memento
    Perfume
    The Count of Monte Cristo

By the way, The Matrix was made in 1999, so doesn't count. And, I loved The Hangover but it wouldn't quite make my list.

    Nah! You can't beat Blackadder.
  • The Lives of Others
    The White Ribbon
