Bird Box - 7.5/10 - Thriller
Interesting one if you strip it down it isn't the greatest script or doesn't really make you want to watch it. Think its along the same lines as quiet place, kind of predictable too. That said i did enjoy it, with a few clever twists and the acting was very good imo. Worth a watch but wont blow you away.

Game Night-7.5/10 Comedy/action
Watched probably a month ago but not seen a review on here. Good cast, funny all the way through and very easy to watch.
All very far fetched and predictable, but still decent and funny0 -

Tully Genre Unknown / Possibly comedy? 5/10
Probably being generous here, not even sure why i bothered watching it but save yourself its not really worth it at all.
Story about a new mother, who is struggling to cope with life and has another younger child who is difficult so hires a nanny. They bond, life gets better then its sort of pitters out really, not really sure what they were aiming for.0 -

Cant really disagree, its all about opinions. On the face of it i wasn't overly impressed but then after it went up in my views. looking back i do think its ok but just dragged out, i am contradicting myself but its very split between awful and not bad. The beginning (no spoiler) but the start made it seem like it was going to be amazing but then sort of went slow from there.ValleyGary said:

Re: Quiet place, i have only watched when i was drunk once and didnt really watch as was round someones house, will need to watch again or properly.
@Bedsaddick very true, i watched it all just really not impressed. Think someone who has been in that position (Mum/Depression) might have related to it more, but other than that i didn't really think much of it.2 -

Mary Poppins Returns
I'm normally a sucker for this sort of sentimental film but I found this one distinctly average. The music wasn't particularly good, Emily Blunt's OTT cut glass accent was grating and, whilst Lin-Manuel Miranda may be the lyricist, playwright, singer and actor who created and starred in 'Hamilton', I found him unconvincing here as the Cockney lamplighter. On a more positive note, it was good to see Dick Van Dyke throwing a few shapes at 93 years of age.1 -
Just saw a preview showing of Stan & Ollie. Had a real charm about it and beautifully acted by the 2 leads Steve Coogan & John C Reilly. I would certainly recommend seeing it.2

Went and see Stan and Ollie tonight ... having been bought up watching their films - my late father favourites - bought back some great memories while watching it - superb story and brilliant portrayal of them both ...superb acting -

The Favourite
Thought this was extremely entertaining - bawdy, witty, full of arch humour. It made me laugh out loud numerous times. The three leads were superb, with a great supporting cast. The sets were sumptuous, and though the plot was pretty straightforward, it was two hours very well spent. Highly recommended. 8/10.1 -

You could argue that the whole thing was a bit bizarre - that director's not exactly known for mainstream films, though this one will have much wider appeal than his last couple (both of which I enjoyed, but nowhere near as much as this).iainment said:

'Life Itself' - Sky Cinema exclusive - Rom/com 8/10
Long film 2 hours
About a guy who has just gone through trauma as he is no longer with his long term gf (wont post spoiler) basically his life unfolds then it knocks onto several others stories that are all linked. I enjoyed it, found it very feel good aswell and also quite a few twists so sometimes you are not sure quite where it is going. Recommended, Note to people i do like a rom com so not for you if you dont (probably)
Edit- just seen some of the ratings on Rotten Tomato, i must be truly unique with my movie choices sometimes

Got around to watching Bird Box . Not half as bad as I was expecting. Poor ending but overall quite entertaining. 6 out of 102
