Not a recent film, but just saw 'Triangle'. Cracking film - totally surprised by how good it was. If you like Memento or The Machinist, watch it. It has the added bonus of having Melissa George in the lead role (mmmmmmmmmm)

Have you watched "A Lonely Place To Die" Leroy?..

Anyone seen 'Sightseers'? Watched it on DVD yesterday and laughed. A lot. Excellent British black comedy. Brown lipstick indeed.

If you like that try the similar Timecrimes, which is excellent.

Ahhh - Cronocrimenes. Great little film. Spanish films can be fantastic - there's a lot of shit out there, but some real gems (el orfanato, abre los ojos, los sin nombre). I enjoyed it when I saw it, and its been a while, so I may watch it again.

No - any good? Although I'd watch her in pretty much anything - not so much for her acting (which is just about passable), but because she is pretty much female perfection.

Watched 'Whiskey Galore' last night ... ages since I have seen it (part of a brilliant box set I have of Ealing Films) ... such a good film

Triangle is Christopher Smith, isn't it? His best was Severance, brilliant little horror comedy. Even Danny Dyer is good in it.

Bournemouth. You shouldn't jump to conclusions.

i saw this in a private screening in Camden last week.
  • Went to see Percy Jackson, if you liked the 1st one then go and see it , very much a kids / family film , ( As the books are) but a good escape , i wanted to see it with my kids , but ended up away from home with work , went to the cinema and felt a little weird as i was one of the only adults in there without kids!

    I gave it a 8 out of 10 , predictable in places.
  • Any one been to see Red 2 yet?

went to see the conjuring last wednesday. i hadn't been to a horror movie for a long time, in fact i can't remember what the last one was?

it had it's moments and you realise how important the soundtrack is for chilling the hairs on the back of the neck but having thought about it over the last few days, i think i would say it was disappointing.

Got tickets booked to go an see Kick Ass 2 on Wednesday (opening day).....well I would wouldn't I!! Been to see Pacific Rim in 3D that was excellent, got a lot of time for Idris Elba, then went with Mrs RM as she wanted to see Wolverine (in 3D), it was ok but think Pacific Rim was better. Just hope KA2 is good, its not normally my type of film, but this is a bit closer to home.

just got back from the Lone Ranger. OK, good special effects. Not as good a vehicle for Johnny Depp as Pirates of the Caribbean

I just watched this based on your recommendation and liked it very much. There's just one thing that bugs me about it. How / why was it that there were two guys hunting the group down, and then they were killed by two other guys, who then themselves continued to hunt the group down? Who are these two separate pairs of baddies? It just doesn't seem to make sense?

Vinyl ... If you're an old punk, you will enjoy this. In fact, if you like rock music, and a good music hoax, you'll find this fun.

Great appearances by Phil Daniels and Keith Allen. Music from The Alarm.

Just watched this. Not funny for the faint hearted. The world comedy can be used but very tenuously. It borders on horror. I liked it in a guilty way.

If what I say sounds weird then just try the film. Now that's really weird.

Saw it Friday night. Utter drivel. Poor plot , hardly any real dialogue -shoot 'em up cowboy film in space! 2/10 for the effects.

  • Just watched Oblivion. Moon meets The Matrix meets 2001 meets Portal 3.

Derivative as hell, but I kinda loved it. Visually breathtaking, and the soundtrack (partly recorded with M83) is brilliant - especially the ultra-cheesy 'Fearful Odds' - which makes Hans Zimmer sound like a kid with a xylophone

    8.5/10
