Lol. No anger, just a dislike of pomposity. Also, it was maybe a bit harsh to say it was 'shit' - I've seen worse films, it was just a bit disappointing when you consider the film it could have been.

Not that I wish to join the argument...as if I would... but it seems a bit rich to call that guy pompous... and then claim to be a better writer/ director than Neil Blomkamp...

Cafc-west gave us a single line 'review', easy when you just don't get a film or can't be arsed. There's something gripping about that film and i tried to account for what it is. If you don't want to acknowledge the social commentary it portends, i.e. the social context, or see that but don't 'like it' that's up to you of course. You choose to comment on the 'cracks in the storyline', the accent/ performance of Jodie Foster, and your personal reactions to those things make up your opinion- fine, but have you not missed something concerning what the film tries to do or how it does it!?

No. Look, I don't really want to argue this any more, I just wanted to point out the tone of your post. So I'll finish by saying we'll have to agree to disagree: I don't think I've missed the point, I just don't think it was done very well and an opportunity to make a great film has been missed. What it's trying to do is fine but, in my opinion, it fails. That's my point.
Well I saw "Paranoia" this evening. It could have been a good film but rapidly lost its way trying to be a chic flick crossed with an industrial espionage thriller. Julian McMahon (he of the carefully crafted and quite ridiculous eyebrows) was cast as the menancing hardman, which kind of summed up the film really. The story could have worked but it didnt and the hurried "Hollywood" ending kind of killed it off completely. 4/10 from me.
Anyone seen Rush yet. Am off to see it tomorrow night.
Yep. Very good indeed, I am too young to have seen the actual races in question but enjoyed it anyway, went with my dad who remembers it all first hand and he enjoyed it even more. Great film.
They reshot a huge chunk of it. Everything from the plane crash onwards was 'new'. Originally, Pitt's family were whisked off by Jack from Lost (he plays the Marine that gets them on the chopper early on) who basically wanted the family all to himself, and Pitt goes on a mission to get them back. Apparently it was too dark (thematically, not literally).
Saw Rush tonight. I thought it was excellent. I remember the Lauda crash very well. I'm no particular F1 fan but you don't need to be. It's a good story. Some really good humour too. The bloke who plays Lauda is simply ridiculously authentic. I'm fairly sure it's just old footage of him edited in, they're very clever these days.
Last night it was "The Best Offer" Superbly shot, with a great cast (excluding a very wooden and slightly cheesey Jim Sturgess) and a stand out performance by Geoffrey Rush playing the eccentric and very bent Auctioneer Virgil Oldman. Well worth a look and like me, you'll be surprised at how good the film turns out to be......8/10

Now that you mentioned it,hopefully I'll get around to watching this film soon.Been looking forward to it for some time but lost interest when I read a few poor reviews...
Lol......I must say Now Is Good is definitely not my cup of tea.But that said,having preconceived ideas about movies of a certain genre may not always be a good thing.For example,I'd been refusing to watch 'Atonement' for many years but eventually gave it a try several months ago.In the end,I was really glad I did.
Given the above appraisal of Now Is Good, Jessie, you might be on to something there...
My feelings on this are based on association and how people deal with the death of loved ones, maybe I should have made that clear before your snidey remark.
