The Run in... bumpy ride or plain sailing?

Huddersfield away
Mk dons away
Carlisle home
Southampton away
Colchester home
Norwich home
Exeter away
Leeds home
Oldham away.

4 home 5 away.

Where and when will the points be won or lost, its a nightmare run in on paper but we do seem to raise our game against the bigger teams (not local rivals) can we make 2nd? Or will we just scrape into the playoffs, Saturday is a huge game. Win and you can nearly say its settles for the playoff and then fighting for 2nd with norwich destined to be champions. Out of all the 'big' games exeter scares me the most.

    Huddersfield away - Lose 2 - 0
    Mk dons away - Draw 1 - 1
    Carlisle home - Win 2 - 0
    Southampton away - Lose 3 - 0
    Colchester home - Draw 1 - 1
    Norwich home - Lose 0 - 2
    Exeter away - Draw 1 - 1
    Leeds home - Draw 1 - 1
    Oldham away. - Draw 0 - 0

Will go to the wire about playoffs place. Last 9 games I can only see one win. Not hopeful but who said footballs a funny old game.

Key could be turning one of the draws into a win.

Huddersfield is our biggest game at the moment.

Win on Saturday and we put 8 points between us and falling out of the play offs

I think that it's gonna be touch and go whether we make the play offs or not

13 points should be enough for playoffs.

Saturday for me is the biggest game in a long while the way the results have panned out over the last two weeks.

On the basis that Leeds lose at Norwich (fingers crossed)

We win and us, Millwall and Leeds will all have an equal chance of automatics (assuming Millwall beat Stockport)
Draw - Safely in the play offs (dont see Huddersfield catching us)
Lose - Potentially slipping out of the top 6 altogether.

Norwich will probably be champions by the time they play us.

Which may or may not work in our favour.

8 wins and a draw !!!!.........2nd spot nailed on then you think.

I think we'll take 13 points maximum but can see it being nearer eight. Avoid defeat at Huddersfield and I reckon we'll make the play-offs.

if we avoid defeat against huddersfield and southampton, i think that will be enough to secure a play off place.
    i can see the last 4 games being very tense affairs;
    we could confirm norwich's promomtion,
    boost/dent exeters chances of survival,
kill off leeds automatic place, sending millwall up as a consequence,
secure our place in play offs/secure oldham's place in the division.

EDIT - i predict between 10 and 14 pts from them games.

breaking season so far in 9 game blocks

    aug / sept 6 W 2 D 1 L 20 points 17 gf 8 ga +9g
    Oct/ nov 4 W 4 D 1 L 16 points 20 gf 10 ga +10g
    Dec / Jan 4 W 4 D 1 L 16 points 15 gf 12 ga +3g
    Feb/Mar 3 W 3 D 3 L 12 points 12 gf 13 ga -1 g

so mmm amazing logic and computer says we getting worse scoring less goals each period but letting more in

so next 9 game should be if we keep up the trend 9 goals for and 14 against

so we could get 27 points thats winning 8 games 1 - 0 and loosing one game 14 -1
and go up or we could loose all games by one nil or two one and finish mid table

Statistics its all balls we just need to score more goals than we let in in every game simple Parky tighten up the back and get the mid field producing chances for the srtikers...

An extra 15 points, may not be enought the way Southampton are going, and Huddersfield starting to hit a bit of form
  • Options
    Huddersfield draw
    Mk Dons win
    Carlisle win
    Southampton defeat
    Colchester win
    Norwich defeat
    Exeter draw
    Leeds win
    Oldham draw

15 points (probably way to optimistic) makes 82? probably the play offs then.
If we had mirrored our form up to Christmas in the 2nd half of the season then we would be in the automatic
spots, sadly that now looks unlikely.

It will always be a bumpy ride with Charlton - we could be 15 points clear at the top and have a run in that involved relegated teams, teams with nothing to play for, and several under 12 teams who joined the league as competition winners, and we would still struggle...its what we do!

Im sure we will pick up a few points when we are not expected to do and drop points when we thing we have finally turned the corner

    Huddersfield defeat
    Mk Dons draw
    Carlisle win
    Southampton defeat
    Colchester draw
    Norwich win
    Exeter win
    Leeds draw
    Oldham defeat
