Man City worked because the plan to turn it into a football ground after the Commonwealth games was finished was in there right from the start, whereas that isn't the case at the Olympic stadium. Presumably the owners of West Ham think that they can make more £££ at Stratford than they can at the Boleyn. But a running track equals a shocking view, whatever an architect's CGI suggests. If they can strike out the need to have a track and can find the money to rebuild the majorityof the stadium - all the seating area above the lower mid point - then maybe it's a goer. And don't big The Emirates up - the view from the lower tier is shocking.
Wandered around there yesterday. Lots of level psychopaths to help the flow of humans. Sorry cycle paths. Large areas of unpleasant light industrial units and derelict buildings. Will they be cleared, does anyone know?

Saracens need a new home - the Watford ground is awful.
Access to Stratford will be so easy - we'll have a DLR service from Woolwich Arsenal soon.
