Sorry, I know I'm an old guy, I love American Idol, but if you play back Sundays X Factor it was just a continuous meaningless noise. 55 minutes of adverts and repeated crap, 5 minutes of entertainment if you are lucky.

is that common knowledge ? Obviously Cowell snaps up the best acts once the show is over but it's a bit much doing so whilst the competition is still going on. Matt may as well drop out now, if he's signed a deal he's made it.

i only opened this because it was in the 'general charlton' category. wouldn't have bothered if i'd known it was about the show (each to their own though).
whatever peoples opions are on this I defy anyone to not be amazed by Matt Cardle, how the hell can someone that good , go unoticed for so many years. The geezer is a genuine musician as well.
I would happily buy his album and pay to go to his concert.

Matt is now my stock answer when I'm asked "Why havnt you made it in the music business" There are thousands of singers as good and better than me, and Matt is at the top of the tree talent wise, but the puppeteers of the industry like "suck up" so that ruled me out from day one...

That's probably a very fair point. An alternative view could be that you're not good enough.
Personally I have no opinion either way.
However, I was definitely good enough to be a professional football, a brain surgeon and a go-go dancer. But I didn't do "suck up" either so that kinda fucked me too.
