[cite]Posted By: cookierules[/cite]Fry loan extended til 5th feb! Can play vs spurs! Seip gone back to Plymouth! On os!
Shame we haven't got him until the end of the season.
I imagine West Ham are waiting to see who the new manager is and what sort of players we bring in during the window. Let's be honest no-one knows that at the moment!
Plus of course, Avram is on shaky ground himself. Any new manager they have may want him back....
Shame if he goes I think he has been good and Bessone seemed less attack minded (although that could be due to it being his first game), which could have also had an effect on JJs performance
I like Fry, he's had some good games this season and I think he'll carry on improving. I hope he stays, Bessone was ok yesterday, but not fantastic and I've certainly seen better from Fry during his time here.
Personally i hope we keep Fry for the rest of the season. He is a very good LB and i think would be good as a CB as well. Did ok before. Bessone did ok last night and considering he hasn't played that much this season i thought he did well.
I think leaving Fry on the bench last night could have been more due to us not knowing whether he will be with us after Saturday and was useful to give Bessone a run. If Fry stays i think its a nice choice to have between the two, plus the added bonus of Fry being able to play CB as well.
I like Matt. He will only improve and I hope we can keep him. We will need a squad in order to get out of this division and Fry being available will certainly help.
Manuel Da Costa is back from Injury and Ilunga did not leave in the window . Therefore Wham have good options at LB even without Bridge. At CB they have also have lots of cover .
I suspect that it will be Sir Chris's decision whether he stays or returns . Certainly Dyer and Powell will know Fry well . In Sir Chris we trust.
[quote][cite]Posted By: BigRedEvil[/cite]I reckon if Fry stays the rest of the season and we get promoted we might look to make it a more permanent thing.[/quote]
Not gonna happen... he's very highly rated by westham
When West Ham get relegated, they will get rid of a lot of their players, unfortunatley Fry will fit right into their Championship side. He may stay with us until the end of the season, but I cant see a permanent move.
[cite]Posted By: allez les addicks[/cite]No brainer for me, as a result I still can't see the reasoning for getting Bessone in...
IMO it's because Fry considers that he is a CB (he has said so himself).
He has said that he's happy to take the LB position, because it means it gives him a chance to play games and get match experience under his belt. But it's not his natural position.
Bessone comes with a reputation of being a specialist LB, confortable on the ball with a passing game, which again IMO is the way Chris Powell wants the team to play.
Fry has really helped the club as it was clear JJ is better playing in midfield and we didn't have anybody to play in the LB slot without him. But he isn't a left back and whilst he'll do a job in that position, it will always be that, nothing more. He is certainly more than adequate at this level although to be fair, I don't think he has pulled up many trees. It is natural that if fit and providing he is sufficiently good form - that Bessone would take preference as he give the balance you look for in a full back, much more than Fry can. I think Fry provides useful cover for both Central and left back positions but I'd have Doc and Dailly well ahead of him.
I think some people latch on to Doc but I think I've seen more errors from Fry this season.
I know what you mean but Fry is still only 20. Powell and Slater were talking about improving players and at his age he clearly has plenty of room for improvement. A bit more consistency and encouragement/confidence to get forward more he could become a better left back than he is now.
He's never going to be as quick and exciting going forward as someone like Youga was, but I think he definitely can get better in both positions.
He's also our best alternative to Bessone at the moment - who would loan us a left back knowing we've already got one on loan, they'd be unlikely to get many games.
[cite]Posted By: golfaddick[/cite]interesting that the loan is only until March 19th - just over a month.
I don't think we will see him back after that - think this was the longest W Ham wanted to loan him out for.
A few days back at Wham after March 19th......and hey Presto! we sign him again as a brand new emergency loan before 24th March. Available then to cover potential play off games?

Better... we're waiting to see if new manager wants him, then a decision will be made... in the paper yesterday!
''Once again im unclear about my situation''
Blimey! I actually understood that tweet. I must be getting the hang of this.

He's not a natural fullback ...... but he's given it his best shot.
He's only 19 remember. I'd like him to stay.

Loan extended to March 19th. Available for selection this weekend. Report
Good news. Very good news.

I would personally like to see Bessone at left back - looked good during the 60 mins he played for us the other week.

Alternatively, West Spam maybe being cautious and making sure that they are covered.
