24th was the legally binding date to purchase the club wasn't it?
I personally, with no insider knowledge think it will be done. Just have to wait a little bit more. Alhough I really don't understand why they had to put such a specific date on it...
No I don't think there was anything legally binding on the date BigRedEvil. We really mustn't get too alarmed by this delay. The 24th was the aim for date and it doesn't sound as though they've missed it by much. They've kept us as informed as they feel they can and hopefully there are just a few loose ends to tie up. Be good if the could announce on Boxing Day but if there's money to be moved around will the banks be doing it then?
It was a stupid day to aim for completion by because a lot of the businesses that such a deal relies on - lawyers, football authorities etc. are going to start winding down halfway through the day, or before. Poor decision making again I'm afraid. For supporters who've been on such a roller coaster and seen one potentially club changing deal go up in smoke it was really daft not to set a date that all the parties could adhere to.

Supporters like Richard Murray and the rest of the current/past board you mean? Yeah, I can imagine they are really hoping this deal goes through to secure the future of the club they have invested do much time, effort and money into and are a bit disappointed that it hasn't been signed and sealed yet. But I'm sure they realise that that's how it goes sometimes, particularly when you get the sort of weather we've just had, and that there's still plenty of time to get this done.
Well Alexander knaster certainly has money. Now ceo of private equity firm pamplona and lives in London. Russian born but moved to USA when 15 and now an American citizen. More credible than some rumours we've heard on here.

No, all of us, including the board, as you say. Personally I didn't expect it to happen, and I'm doing a Henry on this (until it's on the OS, I'm going to accept it's done).
The point about it being a silly date to work towards, stands. It's not unusual to have bad weather in winter, it's not unusual for a lot of organisations not to do a full day on Xmas eve and it's really not unusual for nobody to work on Xmas day, so if they'd picked a "normal" weekday they'd be able to run over by a few hours without any drama. The context (the disappointments the supporters have faced in terms of perfromances and the last failed takeover), just make it more critical that they hit the date the change. That's all I was trying to say. I can't think of a situation in normal business where anyone would try and aim for a big deal, that was getting media attention, done on Xmas eve because of all the factors that I mentioned.
According to the original announcement 24th wasn't a 'target' anyway. Its was the date that the deal was 'anticipated' to be completed by. These things are always complicated and expectations change all the time. If you'd have asked me what I anticipated, it would be that what ever date was given, it would have taken a little longer. We just need to be patient.

Some real heavy hitters there.....
It would be fantastic/a bloody miracle, if the new prospective owners had genuine big money behind them.
