hunt was a prem signing after west brom turned down our advances the previous year so we told hunt to let his contract run down and he'd get a bigger signing on fee and west brom would recieve zilch.
No, the referee, who was watching the Robinson incident and not the ball stopped play just as he was rounding David James. I doubt he would have missed.
Well he took it round the keeper and didn't bother putting it into the empty net as the whistle had already been blown. It was very much missing on purpose.
I would have to take out Di Canio, being a one season wonder, and replace him with Graham Stuart.
much undervalued player and if you watch some of the dvd highlights of the good seasons (2000-2004) he was very pivotal & actually set up a lot of goals.
You can't possibly leave out Jason Euall. The man was a legend until Curbs put him in midfield. I still have his autograph after his MOM performance in the victory against Chelsea March 2002.
Euall
Jensen
Herreiderson
Stuart
Bent was a fantastic signing but ultimately didn't do us much good and Di Caneo was no more than an enjoyable cameo. Murphy was 2 stone overweight for most of his time at the Valley.

All unsung heroes enabling Charlton to maintain their Prem league status.
You beat me to it Oggy!
I was going to mention Bartlett and Stuart as nobody else had....
Has Luke Young had a mention?
England international, skipper and all that.
Apologies if he has and I missed it.
Re Off_it's comment: It is hard to pick 4. Darrent Bent and Chris Powell are probably unanimous but then it is more arguable.
BENT & DI CANIO
QUALITY
2. Powell
3. Young
4. Jensen
I know most of his goals came in the Champs', but if we hadn't signed him we may never of had that long Prem' run in the first place.
Hunt wasnt a premiership signing though - he was a championship signing.
Anyway
1 D Bent
2. Jensen
3. Euell
4. Stuart
Correct, he joined on a free transfer/Bosman thingy from West Brom in 1998 after we were promoted.
He had the clear run on goal at Anfield after being put through by Robinson, only for the referee to stop play for a late foul on Robinson.
2.Stuart
3.Euell
4.Bent
