...The Irony is the move to Sheffield has broken down over personal terms and not the myriad of different injury issues.
Ha ha, so we have a better remuneration package than the massives ;-)
When Rhoys got his 4 year contract, he said i've got security now, Wednesday knowing how many injuries he's had in the last 2 seasons would offer a package which reflects that, so no way would they match CAFC wages.
Not quite the Man City of the South but at last, the management are realising you have to push the boat out now and again?

JBG and Jordan reflect that new understanding.
Injury free, Rhoys can compete with Fox for the left back spot. Bergdych can complete for left midfield , which might suit a player coming into a new league
I'd actually prefer to see him move on. He's on a good contract by all accounts and is at this point probably third in the pecking order. Having Rhoys remain with us is sucking up resources which could now be spent in improving the team rather than improving the under 21 squad training matches.
This is not meant to be a slight on Rhoys. He was great for us but hasn't been fit and things have moved on. It's a harsh reality of being a pro footballer and a reminder why clubs too can come unstuck in offering long term contracts to players.
It looks unlikely we will get a fee at this point so if Rhoys wants football and for us to put him in the shop window then I wouldn't mind us getting him out on loan even if we pay the lions share of his wages which we are paying anyway.
It may have nothing to do with failing a medical. Its just as likely that he doesnt want to move because he is on such a long deal at Charlton. If the massives have only offered him a 1 or 2 year deal (which is likely) on similar wages then he may be reluctant to move because he has close to 4 years to run on his Charlton contract which obviously gives him better financial security.
If the above is the case then I guess it depends how much he wants to play. He can either sit it out at Charlton and be guaranteed good money for 4 years (but possibly feature very little and end up being loaned out etc) or go to a Weds and be in contention for their starting 11 (& Wales if he gets regular games) but probably have to earn another contract in 1/2 years time.
I.E. the delay could just be Wiggins agent trying to increase the length of the Weds offer or Wiggins taking time to decide on the guaranteed money vs 1st team football matter above.
Doubt it anything to do with how much he wants to play. A fit Wiggins would play regularly for both Charlton and Wednesday. An unfit one won't play for anyone.

This seems not to be the case. Wiggins played in their first four games culminating in a 3-1 home defeat to Middlesbro' on the 29th August. The only game he has played since was the mid-week win at Newcastle but it seems that this was sufficient to given him a place on the bench for Saturday's victory at Brentford.

I thing your find he was still injured for the 1st 2 games of the season, then played a couple of games was nut megged for a goal and was dropped. as you say he played at Newcastle and was on the bench for the last game.

I should have said "insufficient" because he didn't even make the bench.

Your Right he didn't make the bench after being in a winning team ?

I don't believe so - Wednesday made wholesale changes from the previous League match for the Newcastle game and then reverted to their League team from what I can see.
To be honest I'm surprised as obviously his move to Sheffield Wednesday has turned out to be a failure. I saw on Twitter the other day that Wednesday fans were slagging him off. Anyway, good luck to him. He's finally made it to the Premier League....
Really rated him when he first arrived and after a few dodgy first games looked like he could go on and play at a higher level. That first foot injury v Palace ? Completely changed his game. After that I generally thought he was poor. I think he will get slaughtered in the PL if he gets a game.
I remember we spoke of him as a potential premier league player. Yet he was never the same after that injury against Palace and looked like a busted flush by the time he left for the Wendies.

Agree completely. Remember thinking that he simply wasn't that good - he'd clocked up 10 caps for Wales at U21 level prior to joining us, but despite playing in a successful side in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 he never got a full cap. League appearances were often very variable too (rather like Mark Fish ?) with some good games outweighed by many lapses.
Looking on Twitter - the SWFC fans cannot believe that Bournemouth are actually paying money for him and he will be playing in the Premier League! Can't see many Bournemouth fans welcoming him back either...
