    It’s a win-win in my opinion.

If they’re allowed to play, it’ll always be tarnished and there’s a reasonable chance that playing in Europe will negatively affect their league performances too.

If they’re kicked out, there’ll be a lot of angry virgins in Surrey vowing to do something about it, like make a flag, or sing a song.

There's no win-win. Them being in Europe won't be tarnished at all, they'll still be there earning the £££ and enjoying the European away days. The Premier League is so fcked these days that there's no way they go down, even if they struggle, as the promoted sides will come straight back down again without a whimper.

The only good outcome for anyone here is if they aren't allowed in.
I can't see the prem relegation being so simple next year.
Leeds and Burnley have a decent chance of survival while sunderland certainly won't roll over like the three that went down this season.
I have a high expectation of Sunderland rolling over.

I would say the 3 promoted teams are the clear favourites for relegation again.

Wolves, sold Ait-Nouri and Cunha to the Manchesters, I can see them struggling this year

They seem to teter on the edge of relegation, Cunha is going to be very very difficult to replace and I understand the owners aren't overly popular either.

If they lost Strand Larsen too I'd absolutely slide them into that third relegation spot. Probably with Leeds surviving.

Brentford with a new manager could also wobble this season coming.  It would seem likely to me that them or Wolves could well struggle.
Sunderland will absolutely go back down.  They have gone up and yet their squad is worse with loanees going back and sales.  Miles off it.

Leeds possibly if they recruit well but i'm pretty confident Burnley will go straight back down.

People seem to think that because they had a brilliant defensive record in the Championship that it'll somehow give them a chance of survival in the PL. No chance. They massively overperformed on xGC (conceded 16 to an xGC of 39) and teams will batter them in the PL.

Also not convinced Parker isn't just a championship promotion specialist and that's his celling.

Drogheda United who won the FAI Cup in November to qualify for the conference league Q2 are part of a multi club ownership group along with Walsall and Silkeborg in Denmark have just been informed they will not be able to take part in Europe as Silkeborg also qualified. I dont know if that is indicative of anything for Palace.

They are appealing to CAS but its not looking likely.

With no more replays the FA Cup now is little more than the League Cup + non league teams and played mainly on Saturday's. Winning it isn't the achievement it once was.

It’s not been the same since 1947 really. That was the peak of the competition

John Textor agrees to sell £160m Crystal Palace stake to Woody Johnson

    (The Times)

John Textor has agreed the sale of his company’s stake in Crystal Palace to the US billionaire Woody Johnson in a move that should enable the FA Cup winners to play in the Europa League next season.

Palace were facing exclusion from the competition because of Eagle Football Holding’s ownership of the French club Lyon, with Textor and the club chairman Steve Parish attending a meeting at Uefa’s headquarters in Switzerland earlier this month in the hope of resolving the matter.

But Textor recognised a sale of Eagle Football Holding’s 43 per cent stake, for what the Times understands is £160million, was the simplest way of removing the issue with the company’s multi-club ownership model.

Sources have confirmed to The Times that a definitive agreement has been signed with Johnson, subject to Premier League approval. That should not prove an issue.

Johnson, 78, is worth more than £7billion as a member of the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceuticals family and is already an owner of the New York Jets NFL team. He is also the former US ambassador to the UK and a major ally of president Donald Trump.

Robert Wood Johnson IV is an American businessman who is co-owner of the New York Jets and was formerly the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2017 to 2021. He is a great-grandson of Robert Wood Johnson I, and an heir to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical fortune.

This is very good for Palace and puts an end to all the uncertainty as long as the sale goes through.  There must be huge relief among the rest of the investors in the club and UEFA should be pleased that this avoids an embarrassing situation.

They're still fucked for this season though, because the deadline for selling the stake was months ago.  Mugs.

It's going to be absolute chaos if he's anywhere near the decision making. Hope his idiot son gets involved in transfers too and makes them sell Eze.

Shows how far ahead of us they now are when 43% of them is worth 160m.

Could buy us, the Valley, Sparrows Lane and have about 100m left over to invest in the team.

    Maybe - but it's their 15p.

Or, it shows you how little they are worth. The value is being in the PL and the riches that endows and the potential greater riches a good season or two opens up, not being Crystal Palace and playing at Selhurst Park.

Well yes, but they've had a bit more than a 'good season or two'. They've been in the PL for over a decade.

The value atm is just being in the PL for one season and staying in it for the next season. Being in it for a decade is a liability if you don’t have anything tangible to show for it and for a football club that’s basically an improved stadium that increases revenues because the money from being in the PL has otherwise all been spent after the first few seasons. A couple of ‘good’ seasons would be being in the PL and playing in the Champions League and seeing the riches of that money flowing as well. Those are the two things that investors will be seeing as the objective for their buy in because there is no other chance of a real financial return from owning a football team other than selling the ‘value’ of that to the next investor
