if the punishment is that they end up in the conference league, I think I’d rather they just stayed in the Europa as there’s a chance they’d actually win the bloody conference league and we can’t have that0 -

Could buy us, the Valley, Sparrows Lane and have about 100m left over to invest in the team.0 -
French league is a mess:
Lyon have been included in the Ligue 1 fixtures for next season despite being relegated to French football's second tier because of the poor state of their finances.

I have a feeling Palace will probably get let off and be allowed to play in Europe. But the problem if they are is that it then sets a precedent for the future.
There is no point in UEFA setting a deadline of end of March for clubs to change their ownership structures and comply with multi-club ownership rules and then when a club doesn't meet that deadline...........just allow them in anyway.6 -
Having kicked Drogheda out for the same reason, I can’t see how they can do anything different for the nigels.4

It's bonkers (to me at least) that the Prem was 18 years ago. There are adult Addicks fans walking this earth who were born after our last appearance in it. But that's an aside.
Does anyone know when the Academy went from Cat1 to Cat2?
We were Cat1, right?0 -

the same cup that replays are stopped to allow teams to play in a league that considers 10-0 games fair1

Don't think we were ever CAT1 as the rating is only in the last few years since we have been in L1.7 -
Not sure if this will impact UEFA's decision on Palace, but John Textor has now resigned from his management positions at Lyon, including the Board of Directors.0

Sounds like a mess, they'll be let in as soon as Lyons appeal fails2
-
I don't know much about the Lyon situation other than they've got a lot of debt. But how does relegating them help anything? Surely they will make less money in a lower division and struggle even more?1

I've probably misunderstood the situation, but I thought Lyon said, in their appeal against being demoted, that, if the appeal was successful, they would agree not to play in Europe. And I took that to mean their appeal failing would mean they're demoted to L2, but would still be in Europe, therefore making it even more impossible (if that's a phrase).

My understanding: Lyon appeal succeeds- Palace Out, Lyon fails Palace In0 -
Or the Simon Jordan understanding: Uefa are kicking this into a bush so they don't have to act.
Lyon appeal succeeds- All hell breaks loose (someone is going to court), Lyon fails Palace In
I would say doesn't make a difference Palace had an (administrative) obligation, they didn't for fill it- suffer the consequences.
All those say lets be fair to them take a look at the clip also.2 -

So, to be clear, John Textor-owned Crystal Palace would benefit because another club is punished for its owner's financial mis-management. And that other owner is John Textor?1
-
Should kick both of them out13
-
Lyon's relegation will stand. They will not play in the EL.
So Palace will. Despite the "rules".
The whole Euro football pyramid is Kurupt FM, innit?0 -

Would like to see this though (could make a courtroom drama)0
