We were only an inch away from drawing with the welsh... Looks good for the future. That Scotland game was perhaps the worst I've ever seen
An inch but we would have needed to slot the conversion, we lost that match though when we took off Dickson and brought on Youngs who promptly gave away a pen and Lawes gifted possession to Wales who scored the match winning try.
All very positive under Lancaster - the scrum looks stronger and no longer giving away stuoid penalties and free kicks, Morgan is a real find at number 8, Robshaw has led the team well, and Dickson and Farrell look to be great players in the making. Hopefully Lancaster will get the job full time and this England squad will get a season or two to mature ahead of the next world cup.
I've enjoyed this Six Nations - a lot of players retired after the world cup and I wondered what their replacements would be like, Wales have in Cuthbert and North two great backs, Scotland have brought Hogg, Denton and Grey through and as above several young English players have been given the chance to show what they can do.
Nice to see all the England Knockers at the start of this thread with egg on their face.
Cant see anyone knocking England, just not believing they could gel so quickly. Easy to say now, but after the disasterous WC campaign things looked very much in transition for England. Lancaster has done a Powell with the squad!
I worry for England because the ultimate teflon man Rob Andrew is still clinging to power in his ivory tower at Twickers.Giving Stuart Lancaster the coaching job full time for me is a no brainer, but we are hearing while the 6N was on they are publicizing that so and so has knocked them back. Why? Lancaster has been brave he selected a new squad and has evolved this over the championship and has built a skillful youngish squad that would die for the shirt and each other.OK they rode their luck a bit in Murrayfield, but won in Paris, dismantled Ireland and only lost to a very good Welsh side. All that in a first season, what more could they want? A decent Summer tour and I can see this being as good a team as England has had since the WC winning team but with the abilty to play attractive rugby.A bit scary for a Welshman!!!
