  • What would Clarkson do??
The man is being given tv coverage to spout forth his warped views. This should not be allowed. This case should be conducted behind closed doors. At present he is revelling in the media coverage. Oh, he is definitely a psychopath.
  • He's completely sane. Much like Islamists he has taken a legitimate grievance and used that to justify mass murder in his own mind. You dont need to be clinically insane to reach that point, just wrapped up in your own ideology.

I really can't agree with that. However passionate you are about an ideology, you have to be way beyond 'unbalanced' to decide to start killing people.
You could say that about almost any premeditated murderer, they all justify the act to themselves somehow. It might seem inconceivable to any normal person but there are plenty of people around the world who are happy to kill in cold blood and they aren't all insane.
  • Is he worse than the 'heroes' in Iraq and Afghan killing people who have different views to us?
Please tell me you're not serious !?

He killed defenceless kids, Our heroes in Iraq and Afghan are risking their lives on a daily basis for this country and you're sitting on the internet comparing them to a bloke who killed 77 (?) defenceless people because he thought it was for the good!

Not insane, just a filthy Nazi.
    F*ck em all.
    Nazis that is, not kids.

Having said that apparently 25% of the population in eastern Oslo is immigrants so it's no wonder there is a simmering tension.

    Just quoting the BBC documentary
  • Is what he did worse than a 'religious war'? Or any war? Is he worse than the 'heroes' in Iraq and Afghan killing people who have different views to us?

???????? i really dont know what to make of that statement, surely no one on this planet other than extreemists would even consider such a ridiculous view

Our soldiers are out there, for the most part, trying to bring stability back to these people's lives and protect us from terrorist attacks by Al Qaeda.

Al Qaeda is an extremist cell of Muslims that believe Islam is about killing any one who does not share their beliefs. Like Hitler, like Breivik(sp?). How you can compare our soldiers to that is beyond me. Don't forget we have Muslims in our forces too. They however, I believe are of the old Muslim teachings where Islam meant peace.

  • Well, Hitler got sent to a very nice prison with all his friends, so maybe he was expecting something like that.

    Umm *wooosh*?
  • I don't know whether he has a mental illness or not. I only know how to find out if people are feigning madness. Ask them what colour is grass. If they answer tangerine or something unintelligble like pholble, they are malingering. The real answer is green. Appartently even mad people know grass is green.
(This even works in Kentucky where grass is blue because the blue grass never gets high enough to be blue as the horses eat it and it stays green.)
  • He should be locked away under the highest of security but he should be well fed, warm and provided with enough stimulus including exercise to prevent him becoming mentally ill. Provided those conditions are met then he is being treated humanely. If not then he's not. Simples.

Anders Brevik and his lawyer are complaining about small things which amount together to abuse of his human rights apparently, but maybe they should first remember that Anders abused 77 people's human rights in a slightly bigger way by killing them indiscriminately.
Then they should shut up and let Anders get on with the consequences of his sane actions.

"Breivik was convicted of terrorism and premeditated murder, and given the maximum sentence of 21 years' imprisonment."

Whats that work out ? 3 months per victim ?
    Ridiculous.

  • That's just a meaningless statistic though isn't it. In reality he will never walk free.

If he thinks he is being treated inhumanely, then I think he should be let free.

But first they should operate on him, and remove a bone from his body for every victim he had, lets see how he likes that
  • Think he should have his "human rights" well and truly shoved up his a*&e so that he chokes on them.

Apart from a spell in clink before coming to power. Exactly when and what nice prison did Hitler get sent to and with whom ?

Breivik should be held incommunicado .. he has lost the right to be heard on any matter and should really be held in a stone dungeon and fed only bread and water

I disagree with Lincs too but that's very harsh ;0)

  • The authorities are absolutely right to say nothing on this. Of course he's going to write letters of compliant, what else can he do for 24 hours a day but make an irritating arse of himself? Let him write all the letters he wants, but don't give him the satisfaction of doing anything other than shredding them.

Whoever leaked this should have thought through the consequences of their actions. The sooner society forgets about him the better. The poor people who lost friends and relatives will sadly never get the chance to forget, but for the rest of us he should be a non-person.
  • They should ask the victims families if the heat should be turned up and if he should have control of his TV.

"Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik has won part of a human rights case against the Norwegian state.

The court upheld his claim that some of his treatment amounted to "inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment"."

Uncanny resemblance to the scenes in The Tunnel (Sabotage) last night.
