  • We definately need a thread for The Miserables but I got in trouble last time I started one.

Anyone else fancy setting one up - how about a Miserable sets it up. That way all The Positives don't have to wonder how miserable The Miserables' lives really are.
Takes one to know one. Mr happy

Have you actually had anyone bite at one of your many attempts of a wind up?
  • There is certainly a difference between having a drummer and a band. a drummer helps the atmosphere but plays a beat rather than a tune.
  • Drummers are incredibly annoying. Can't recall you having one at either of our games though?
  • I have vague recollection of a dutch brass
    Same here
Kleinje Pils (I think that's how you spell it).

    Didn't know her name!
  • They are annoying both at games and on the telly. It's the same couple of tunes over and over again.
Just like a Status Quo gig!

Oi Mehmet, dont diss the Mighty Quo!
  • I like hearing bands at games - adds to the atmosphere.
Many Charlton fans might agree, but to other clubs the thought of having a 'band' at football matches to improve the atmosphere is so cringing, and just adds to the happy clappy, modern-day fan image.

It ruins the natural atmosphere of a football match, and how anyone can enjoy spending money and travelling long distances with a massive drum or trumpet, only to repeat the same songs they've played at every game over the past years, is in my opinion unbelievable.
    They need their nut tested.
I think we should have pissed up fat blokes trying to beat the crap out of each other, then 'running' the other fans cos they are pwoper nawty. Thats real football. Oh hang on we had that on the 70's and 80's. Good wasn't it???
  • Oi less of the "fat" we was very "streamlined" actually !
  • I disagree too.
If the drummer was not there, I think the atmosphere would improve rather than everyone waiting to be led into a song they would just get on with it.
No Way, when the drummer isn't at the games our atmosphere is a lot worse than when they are playing.

  • Not so great when you are sitting too close to the drummer though - especially if your a nursing a bit of a hangover.

  • Keep the band out it is bad enough on the telly let alone having to stand next to them. They drown out every song with self preservation society anyway.
  • Hate drums.
    Hate bands.
    Hate those ultras things.
    Hate goal music.

Where can I join a miserable thread ?

Judging by most of the replies thus far.............. I'd say you're in one.

  • Thank fook!!

Had their day in Rome 97 and France 98.

Since they they just repeat the same old clap along shite. Play GSTQ 20 times a game, ruining it in the process. Drown out any sporadic chanting and any non-pc chants and play ring of fooking fire!!!!

Plus they speak crap about how many games they have gone too (unless it's incorrect journalism - quite possibly) and get most of their England trips paid for!!

Donetsk the other night was no worse for them not being there in my opinion. People were able to actually start songs themselves!!
