the interview with Laura last night was amazing, especially the bit where she can tell if she's trained hard enough by the latic acid build up, and how it tastes like blood in her mouth. Amazing girl, and a great story of how she overcame a lot of problems in her childhood with illness.

    Plus she is really cute.

I'd be glad to offer her an alternative to blood for her to taste.

    Pure class!!!

  • did Farah come over from Somalia as a child or when he was a teenager?

His dad is English, met his mum over there when on holiday.

  • Mo for me followed closely by Wiggy.
  • Alistar brownlee for me

He just had this look of no one is going to beat me , drive and determination in abundance
  • Mo and Jess for me. Mo for the sheer superhuman effort it takes to run that far that quickly and Jess for being hot, being the best at all those events and for dealing with the expectation.
  • Taoufik Makhloufi, on Monday night two doctors informed the IAAF that the 24-year-old had "suffered from a painful injury, which however, with appropriate treatment, may allow him to compete in 24 hours. He then romps home in the 1500m.

That was truly special and he only looked about 12 in his interview last night.
  • All of them, but if they need to be ranked, then...
    British:
    1) Laura Trott
    2) Mo Farah
    3) Bradley Wiggins

    Overseas:
    1) Galen Rupp
    2) Galen Rupp
    3) Galen Rupp

    :-)

  • OK, I've got a new one, having seen Nicola Adams win through to the final. (and I cannot stand the concept of women's boxing!)
What a lovely bubbly lady, speaking with positive enthusiasm - what a role model!

gotta be mo for me with andy murray and jessica ennis close behind for how much it meant to them and how big their achievements were Mo being the first British winner of the 10,000 meters and could do the same with the 5,000 meters in a couple days

  • Overseas:
    1) Galen Rupp
    2) Galen Rupp
    3) Galen Rupp

It's a little known fact that he is Mo Farahs training partner....

  • I knew that, AFKA ! And so did Michael Johnson by the way he was celebrating the silver medal placing in the studio ! Going mental !
  • I think that Wiggo is the bees knees, but i was over the moon for Farah.
  • Mo Farah.
But let's not forget the big one, the prancing ponies in team dressage.

Well I never! You live and learn, eh?

    ;-D
  • I go for the bloke that won the long jump sandwiched in between Jess and Mo. Nobody including me can remember his name. talk about overshadowed. First winner of that event since Lyn Davies (who is still remembered) and was he pleased if a little overlooked.

Aye, a Ginge named Rutherford and we were all waiting for a broad 'sweaty' accent and he's as English as the Queen.....

Steady on old fruit - he's not German now is he?

  • Mo Farah, incredible achievement in so many ways.

If he wins the 5kms as well then that will seal the deal.
  • So difficult to choose. Don't forget the gymnasts -they did brilliantly and ahead of expectations, even if it wasn't gold.

...and a really lovely character too. Really hope he gets a medal in the 5.

  • Ali Brownlee. Not only did he dominate the triathlon, he took a risk in going out all guns blazing in the first lap of the run to try and get his brother, 15 seconds ahead of 4th place. This could've backfired on him. Shows good heart that.

I also thought Laura Trott and the athletic medals on Super Saturday were all brilliant.

Felixs Sanchez' medal ceremony was the most moving.

His great-grandfather was one of the great British footballers of Edwardian times.

Jock Rutherford, a right-winger known as "the Newcastle flyer," won three championship titles and appeared in five FA Cup finals for Newcastle United. He won 11 caps for England and played for Arsenal at the age of 41, which remains a club record.

  • Murray! He destroyed Federer.
