decent christmas gift from the firm!
Beats a bottle of wine I have to say. I am more interested to know where they sourced 200+ ipad mini's from!

So am i cant get one for love nor money except ebay
Of course they are. This is the Christmas 'must have' for 2012.
By this time next week an iPad Mini will be £500, and people will pay it as their children will think that Santa doesn't love them if they don't get one.
I don't know how much it would cost to ship and if the places would even do it - or be trusted to send it - but I'm pretty sure tons of shops will have them in Hong Kong. (What a perfect excuse for the Mrs to let you take a 'short' trip ;-) )
The girlfriend wanted a iPhone 5 whilst we was in HK, in the apple shop you had to do a raffle type thing each day, the 3 days we where there she didn't get drawn out, was so infuriating seeing every electronics shop in the city have them for sale, just at a ridiculous price.
I've been to apple bluewater twice this week and got one both times! It opens at 9am but if u get there for about half 8 they start serving early. They only get a few though each day delivered and are snapped up quick. If u get there later than 9am you've got no chance.
I remember going through hell trying to get a Tinky Winky about 15 years ago. All part of being a Dad, in the you end up acting totally irrationally and spending far more than you planned but boy is it worth it! Ended up buying one off a bloke outside Cannon St station for loads, £70 or something, but my lad was so pleased and it is still in his bedroom although he's almost 18. Telly Tubbies are retro now!
64g cellular only FFs waste of time no way of seeing what's on deliveries before they come
Well, of course, there is - any half-decent company would know what and when stuff was being delivered to each outlet - they just don't want you to know! Obviously, this stuff comes into the UK from China by the multi-container load. But to actually deliver masses of the product to the store would be counter-productive and would be the last thing the cynical execs at Apple would want isn't it? They are much happy having the drooling masses queuing at their shop doors to hype the desirability at no cost to themselves.
At the moment the Walmart US site has 64gb minis (with 5 days to go for free home delivery before Xmas) for $529. Whereas the John Lewis site currently has (more than 10 of) these but at £529. Even setting aside the tax differences between the US & UK, that tells you all you need to know about the contempt the fruit logo company treats its UK consumers with.
I still don't get Apple products. Previously, stuff that has become ubiquitous has gone deeply out of fashion precisely because the world and his wife has got one.

You'd think that was the case, but I ordered 700 of the f***ing things (regular-sized iPads) from Apple direct and they had no idea what was coming over on the ship, when it would be delivered, or where it would be delivered to. This was for an order of over 250k - so imagine what it's like trying to get them to figure out where individual stock orders worth 300 quid are going to end up. They truly are a ridiculous joke of a company - and are only getting worse now that the sheen has worn off and they have to get defensive.
