I'd rather he was rubbed out quick and simple. Don't want my money wasted on him.

nah a painful slow, agonising death is needed

Totally agree, but in reality he'll be living in a cosy cell with all mod cons & regular sessions with his therapist to help him work through his "issues".

Really not into violence, but I would gladly batter this sick f**k til he's stopped breathing (and I'd probably carry on for 10 mins just to make sure)............

He should receive a sickening punishment....I won't say what as the thread will be closed.

What a sick sick man I really hope someone does him in, he does not deserve to live

I like the permanent idea of solitary confinement.

Just the most appalling story I can remember reading. As bad as he is - and he's evil and sick beyond words - it's the part that the mums paid that is the most distressing for me.

    Their own babies. Incomprehensible.

Echo McBobbin's sentiments above that I hope they find loving homes, and were too young for it to have any effect.

Just seen an interview with him in TV from some years back where he was talking about the band and touring etc. Really does just seem like a normal bloke, it's so unbelievable.

It's even more baffling to think that this is a guy who had literally THOUSANDS of women who admired him, yet he wanted to do this?

As for the mothers.....I've never ever heard of anything like that before. Truly shocking

The bloke's a nonce. Don't think it matters to him how many women were interested in him. I'm not a man who favours the death penalty, but its really hard to argue against it for cases like this.

From the BBC website, this sentence just made me want to weep for the poor kids involved in this case and is just cruel and sadistic beyond belief:

'In an exchange involving the other woman, she sent Watkins a message along with an image of her child to the effect that her child needed to know she was not loved.'

The mother of the child sent this text to him about her own flesh and blood - I just cannot comprehend it. And if any of these c**ts spend one more minute of their hopefully interminably miserable lives breathing the air of freedom, then I will get very angry, which is why I should probably try and avoid reading about the sentencing when it comes.

Hanging? Too humane in this case.

I cant understand how any of these scumbags can do such things to a baby. Personally I would love for the Military to black bag these people take them to a desert area, burying them up to their necks in the sand and leave them there to die.

Send the three of em out here to stay with me, it's nice and quiet so they can spend some time to think about their heinous crimes and rest assured, they'll all be taken care of.

Am I right in thinking you specialise in dealing with vermin, Rob?
    If so, how apt.

An interesting view on the side against capital punishment:

With his death, all we would see would be a simple case closed; end of; “the **** got what he deserved” kind of thing. I.e. No one would objectively benefit from this situation.

What we CAN do however, (yes, whilst locking him away) is psychologically analyse the man thoroughly to seek some answers as to how and why a human can comfortably commit such atrocities.
Was it not just a cocktail of drugs but also perhaps some childhood trauma that brought on the propensities for a man to act like this? Causality must be taken into account and examined rigorously. Simply, we must find out what makes a human act this way. The more empirical evidence gathered on this subject the closer we can become in preventing further similar cases.

If our prison systems concentrated on gaining knowledge about the human condition and the human mind we might be able to stop cases like these happening in the future. (because whether we like it or not this is not some isolated case)

Future prevention > simple ‘justice’ or ‘vengeance’.

Let's just put the c*nt down, then discuss if it was right or wrong!

It goes to show that anyone can be a depraved paedophile. In this case also women. We know this anyway, but its not always the stereotypical eccentric old man.

This cannot be blamed on drugs. As said, he was a committed depraved sex offender and unfortunately it is a purely biological thing. You can have traumas in life that can change you, but you are born with your sexual preferences that later develop during puberty. He is a strange one and as people have said, in interviews he appeared to be a normal kind of guy that women appropriate for his age would have been attracted to. He gave a false persona to cover himself for a long time and it was just all acting so he had self awareness to use appropriate behaviour at the right time in order to get away with things.

What he did was so extreme he will get tortured in prison and will hopefully go through absolute hell every day for the rest of his life. The details are really shocking and for many reasons.

I feel sorry for his family and the people that thought they knew him.

Fair point Dave - I can't imagine what the other members of his band think as they are now forever tainted by association. Bloody hell, you'd need a change of identity - it would be the only way to distance yourself from the stench of what that vermin did so you could put it behind you and move on with your life.

Is going to be sentenced in the next hour. Picked this up from the BBC NEWS website:

On Wednesday, the court heard Watkins had said in a phone call after admitting the charges: "It was mega lols. I don't know what everyone is getting freaked out about."

Christ almighty. This guy needs to be put away for good.
