  • That's what you can do if you take the competition seriously.

Thought that with Swansea..played strong teams throughout and then found themselves playing a League Two side in the final.

Still in the top 10 of the Premier league too...

Does prove you can keep form in 2 competitions.

Mind you Millwall are slipping but that is down to a lack of goals more than anything else.

  • Forgot about Swansea
  • it's all about the league
look at the gate tonight at blackburn
the cups are so 1900's FACT
  • But you of course have commented more than most on this thread..

Could be the lowest crowd in a semi final at wembley Wigan v Millwall 50,000 tops

There is absolutely no justification for this game to be played at Wembley. Millwall and Wigan wouldn't full Villa Park which is much nearer the mid point of the two teams.

Their combined average attendance (which, obviously includes away fans) is only 30,331.

    (Millwall = 11,484, Wigan = 18,847 in 2011-12).

  • Millwall are more likely to beat us now, as winning tonight will counteract feelings of tiredness in the players. Had they lost the odds would have been more in our favour.
    Hope we win though.
  • I can't see that Millwall team scoring against us.
  • Didn't Millwall take a fair few to their recent play-off games.

Like us (I mean Watford) though when we got to Wembley/Villa Park/Cardiff no doubt many were "day trippers"
  • Beevers out sat if they can't get three points it will be a disgrace
  • If results go our way on Saturday, Millwall could drop 4 places to 21st. Lovely.

  • Fair play to Millwall . At least they showed some effort in the cup which is more than we ever do .
Now lets stuff them on Saturday!!
  • Heard the travel arrangements for wembley? 1000 by car, 7000 on the train and 32000 will be jumping on the bandwagon.
  • really want to win on saturday now, not that i didn't before but the thought of them chanting wembley makes me sick.
anyone else got a dark feeling of a millwall-chelsea final? kaiser chiefs i predict a riot should be fitting

my pet hate, so i want them to lose whatever match they're playing in

and it's true the cups aren't what they were and that's not to say i wouldn't want another one but the fact is in recent years the league has taking higher priority than the cups

Mid table is boring and the ideal opportunity for a cup run. No one will remember this season in 10 years time.

The league may well be bigger....if you're competing for the Premier League title. But you're not. So not sure how a mid-table season in the 2nd tier trumps a Charlton appearance at Wembley.

Did you wet the bed ?

Yes. With excitement at an FA Cup Semi Final appearance and a Europa League play-off game.

Are you sure it wasn't at the prospect of away games at places such as Walsall, Carlisle and Yeovil next season?
  • Lets wow sparrows with attendance banter

To be fair, those 3 grounds hold some cracking memories & away trips, especially Walsall away. We got to Wembley again that night....

I despise them as much as the next Charlton fan, but lets face it, they've been there before and we haven't, they're about to play at Wembley in a game that is winnable (possibly) and therefore will be in Europe once again........something most of us would give our right arm for (both Wembley in a cup semi final and Europe), SLL is entitled to be a bit excited this morning, I know I would be....

  • They have beaten Aston Villa on this run, and Jackett has steered them to a cup semi-final on very limited resources and unimpressive attendances. On any objective measure they have done really well. If we were in a cup semi-final at Wembley against Wigan I would be delighted.

Jackets to good for them. Hopefully he's poached in the summer.

  • The fact remains we would love to be going to wembley that weekend not fecking barnsley if only
