I'd rather we stayed up in the championship than made it to a cup semi final and got relegated Who knows if a cup run had affected us like millwall points wise we might be in the bottom 3 now ...... Millwall will stay up and of course its good for them to reach a semi and I'd prefer to have done that than not But my priority for us this season was safety and SCP saw it the same I presume With our threadbare squad they didn't wanna take any risks
If we were in the 1980s I'd be a damn sight more jealous than I am now (and I am jealous of course).... The FA Cup was a lot bigger back then and that's a FACT just like the Uefa Cup and European Cup Winners Cup was back then (more important than todays Europa Cup)
It's tempting to fob this off and say 'oh they'll only lose' or 'it's okay they could go down' but no, it is bloody depressing. To rub salt in the wounds I think Palace will go up as well.
I just pray that we win on Saturday, even more so than the game over there in December.
Yes. With excitement at an FA Cup Semi Final appearance and a Europa League play-off game.
Smallwall in Europe. LOL
I despise them as much as the next Charlton fan, but lets face it, they've been there before and we haven't, they're about to play at Wembley in a game that is winnable (possibly) and therefore will be in Europe once again........something most of us would give our right arm for (both Wembley in a cup semi final and Europe), SLL is entitled to be a bit excited this morning, I know I would be....
Millwall colleague walked in this morning. Greeted with " good result for you lot last night" - Millwall colleague then replies with " oh yeah , how did we get on?"
You couldn't make it up...
On a less bitter note , they deserved the win and Hulse looked decent. They will give wigan a tough game but still think Wigan's (limited) quality will shine through on the day, mind.
old work colleague was good mates with Paul 'Rogers in the last minute' the fella who got the winner for Wigan in the JPT shit or whatever it was called , nice enough fella who i supplied a few beers to when i met him
It's Wigan i feel sorry for. Twice they get to Wembley (if they've been more than twice then i can't remember it) and twice it's against Millwall. No way can they enjoy their day with 45k Millwall out to give them a good kicking wherever they go
576 to a midweek northern game at 3 days notice is very impressive. How many do you think we'd take?
At least 1.5 K. Our core support is much larger than millwall's.
We didn't even take 500 to Huddersfield last saturday, yet you think we'd take 1.5k to Blackburn on a wednesday at 3 days notice. Did we even take 1.5k to Blackburn the day we won the championship?
We would have taken a lot more than 500 for a quarter final replay dont matter were it was being played. Not sure why Halifax & Northwich are being mentioned above because they were not quarter finals.
It was not that long ago that all replays took place the following week plus when you went to the first game you always had one eye on a replay just in case we nicked a draw so all this "3 days notice" is cobblers

Exactly - laughable that people think we would easiky take more isnt it.
We only had just over 1k to win the league at Carlisle on a Sat last season.
Boro in 04 was because of free and subsidised travel.

another last minute heartbreaker i'll settle for
Psychologically a good result for us for Saturday.
(Now, where can we find 39,600 people to go to Wembley?) Answers on a postcard please.
Our core support is much larger than millwall's.
600 to Halifax in the first round on a Sunday early KO live on ITV with no trains?

The attendance from the home team last night was disgraceful. Didn't deserve to have a shot at a game at Wembley.

They dont like being called daytrippers though with the only other game this season being there cup final.
