God knows we need someone in midfield but a midget in his mid-thirties from Swansea?

Do any of these loan signings make any difference?

Would like to see the lad in cricket whites though.

Is he left handed by any chance?

I remember watching Swansea and Norwich a few seasons back and Mark Gower looked quiet good.

Happy with this. We've tried everything else on loan that hasn't worked (hulse aside) so why not try some old boy who doesn't play anymore. Good luck fella, you'll need it.

What a crass comment. He is not quite good enough to get into the Swansea side. But you dismiss him as some old boy who doesn't play anymore.

Played once as a sub this season. I think my description is fairly accurate, don't you? I struggle with these type of signings.
I struggle with your type of posts.

    Are you being ironic?

How many of our current players would get anywhere near the Swansea team?
  • There's a difference between being good enough for a club with top ten prem ambition to a mid table champ club

Was he quiet or was he good? Or was he quietly good?

I got excited when we signed Frimpong as I thought he was better than what we had! Gower is surely going to take half a dozen games to get match fit. That's why I don't understand why we've signed him.
  • He was fit enough to make the bench for a quality premier league team five days ago.

Dunno, i struggled with the Obika signing as i didnt rate him after seeing him play , however, this one seems to make sense. Someone to steady the midfield ship, and just give us some impetus to get over the line. Also, i think it was Gower that impressed me when i watched Swansea a couple of years ago.

If he's played at that level of the premier league this season at his age then I would guess it's a fair shout he has very few fitness issues.

Swansea have said Gower has been a good trainer and played regularly for their stiffs, according to CP.
Obviously needs 1st team games for sharpness and match fitness.

I wouldn't expect him to start on Saturday, but our midfielders will see coming in there is a decent footballer wanting to win a regular place in our 1st team - gives them incentive to play for their own shirt, so good psychology.

sounds like he wants to be here, not been so sure with other loans we've had.

hoping he'll add that bit of quality in midfield we've been missing for a while.

I have it on good authority - that Gower only signed because NLA offered to take him out for the night.

we all know the main problem is our midfield and we aint got any cash. So CP brings in an experienced player on loan from a Prem club--------------seems like a spot on call to me.

Even if he is propper shite he is probably better than what we have.

    Could not agree more.

Many on here have been moaning about our midfield for the last 18 months. SCP goes out and brings in a good quality and experienced chap and it is still not good enough. Thank God that SCP is in charge. (I would love to hear some of them if Obika comes on and scores Sat!).

We have a busy Easter programme and there will be injuries etc and Gower will play his part; and so will Hughes.

  • Lol that could be costly so i will rephrase shg

I have offered mark free beer for life if he scores the winner
  • Gutting, thought we were signing Kagawa.

Decent chance he'll be in the bench I would have thought even allowing for a lack of fitness.

Apparently his mate Simon Francis put in a good word for CAFC, had no idea Francis was deaf....
