Let's hope that Powell can get the best out of what must be a rusty player .. our midfield sure needs some 'lubrication'

Surprised, especially as Francis was bombed out by Powell as well

    Fantastic passer of the ball.

Didn't read previous thread, but has anyone put up the stats of him being the most creative player in the PL in Swansea's first season?

Great signing by CP in my opinion.

Plus, if he can pass the ball, and control the game in midfield on OUR surface, he deserves a knighthood.

He was fit enough to make the bench for a quality premier league team five days ago.

Yeah you're right. If he's fit enough for a Swansea league match bench then he's fit enough alright. Can see him getting on the pitch at some stage tmrw.

On paper a decent signing imo. CP knows a good player when he sees one so that good enough for me....and as a few others have noted, his presence in the squad could and should give a kick up the arse to the rest of our midfield cos he'll be gunning for a starting place for sure.

The timing of the signing could be a very shrew move as well. Curbs was cursed with our annual `reach safety then slump' end of seasons so CP knows the dangers from first hand. He's just created another level of competition/motivating factor in the heart of our team at a dodgy time of the season. I like it....lets hope it does what it says on the tin.

Powell is prone to the odd Jonsson or Clarke but that happens and NO manager is immune (see Djemba-Djemba and Taibi).

I get the feeling Jonsson was not a CP signing and Clarke was just a replacement for benson. Give the man a decent budget to get who he wants and he'll buy quality.

We have desperately needed someone to pull the strings in midfield rather than play hoof ball, especially since Stephens mysterious decline.
    Welcome and good luck Mark.

Didn't see anything wrong with Jonsson personally

Hope you are joking otherwise you couldn't have been at Turf Moor because he was pants and it wasn't just my opinion his average score was 4.6 in the players marks thread for about an hour on the pitch. Was off the pace and clearly not match fit.

If he wasn't match fit, then he's presumably much better than what we saw of him. Inevitably, short term loanees tend to lack match fitness when they arrive, I'm sure Mambo and M Smith lacked match fitness when they arrived at their new clubs.

Maybe but if he was that good he would have made more than one league and one cup appearance for a struggling Wolves team this season. Back to the thread I have a good feeling about our latest loanee an experienced midfielder who by all accounts can put his foot on the ball and dictate play welcome Mark.

Not impressed with his contribution so far.

Is this the Welsh McOxo story?
