Bloke who threw the smoke grenade sentenced to 80 hours community service and two year banning order.

Right or wrong this should be a warning to others.

Was in court with him and his very angry father. He didn't know the seriousness of the offence

That seems harsh to me. Unless he had previous ?
  • First offence. Pleaded guilty and co-operated. Prison sentences have been handed out just for possesion.

Wow, harsh, did he get nicked at the game ?

Would you be more upset with 80 hours community or the two year banning order ?
  • Got nicked at half time.

It will certainly deter people from using any more flares this season .
Shame because I think it adds to the occasion if not thrown .

You are right this should be a warning to anyone who feels it necessary to take pyrotechnics into a football ground. Anyone who gets caught in the future must have rocks in their head!

Isn't too bad a punishment, 80 hours is only about 10 days or so of community service.

Some people get lifetime bans from clubs for less. Considering he threw it as well could be seen as dangerous.

You only do about 6 hours a day so will lose a few Saturdays or Sundays still if he works.

Was he a bald fella in a pink shirt
  • What a joke that is
  • If looks could have killed, the groundsman at Bournemouth looked well phished off, the pitch was his baby, and woe betide anyone that messed with that fella.

Possesion max sentence is 3 months.

Throwing à missile max sentence is banning order.

    Mental.
  • 2 Chelsea fans got a month in prison for POSSESSION of a smoke bomb at Swansea last season. Absolutely ridiculous.

What would be the punishment if you let one off in your local high street? Would anyone even be bothered?
