Ebbsfleet v Bromley - that could be a cracker!
Great season for Biggleswade, 9th place in the Southern League, FA cup 1st round proper and a Beds Senior Cup Final v Luton on 8th May. Well done the Waders!0 -
Well done to VCD Athletic on winning the Ryman League 1 North title yesterday.1

There will be an old name returning to the Football League alongside Luton Town although Gateshead and Halifax are technically different clubs to their predessessors.
This is the line up for the Conference play offs. I think personally I'd like Grimsby to make it back . A favourite away day of mine in the 80's.

Mine too. It was a right of passage to stand on that little station after the game having chucked away a lead.Richard J said:There will be an old name returning to the Football League alongside Luton Town although Gateshead and Halifax are technically different clubs to their predessessors.

Wow, nostalgia. Should be some 'big' gates for those. Grimsby will always have a soft spot after SuperClive.Richard J said:There will be an old name returning to the Football League alongside Luton Town although Gateshead and Halifax are technically different clubs to their predessessors.

Just want to mention my local team, Gosport Borough, who this season have been in the highest league of their history (Skrill South), made it to Wembley in the FA Trophy , were bottom three for most of the season, but did the opposite to the norm , which is went on a magnificent run after their Wembley loss to Cambridge, and ended up with a mid-table position - well done, the Boro.0 -

New Clee Station.
I never saw us win there. The honours were normally shared or we lost late on after throwing away a good positions
The Fish and Chips and pubs in Cleethorpes were legendary in the 80's.It had that faded British seaside charm.
It seemed strange a couple of years ago when travelling back from Hull and I shared a carriage with some Dartford supporters on route back from a league match at Blundell Park . Grimsby should be a league club in my view.

The days of Nigel Batch, Trevor Whymark, Tony Ford and Kevin Drinkell. They were hard to beat at home (like most teams back then).Richard J said:Simonsen said:

Both ties in the Conference are well poised :
Halifax 1 Cambridge 0
Grimsby 1 Gateshead 10 -
What's shocking is seeing Wycombe 3 points from safety and 2nd bottom of L2. One of the new clubs could be replaced by one of the 'old' clubs...0

My 92 is in tact.
Cambridge are back in the Football League.
They beat Gateshead 2-1 in an exciting final.0 -
I sort of fancied Gateshead to do it, if only to wow the powers that be with their 500 average crowds in a stadium that holds, I dunno, 15,000.0
-
Judging by the stats on the BBC, one team dominated that match, and it was'nt Cambridge.0
-
I watched it. Gateshead lacked quality in the final third , and they were lucky not to still have a man sent off.
Cambridge went 2 up and Jack Lester set up a great finale by scoring for the Heed especially after Cambridge's captain went off injured leaving them to protect their lead with 7 minutes of injury time with 10 men.0 -
It's strange seeing Luton and Cambridge coming back into the football league, when you consider how Luton Town had a long spell in the top two divisions, while the hoofball Cambridge team of John back nearly made the Premier League!0

Possible reprieve from Relegation for Dartford if both Hereford and Salisbury fail to pay their outstanding football debts by 5pm this Thursday.0

Tremendous talent. Very small but has just about every attribute as a playmaker/goal scorer. I saw Alan Judge again last night for Bees v Tranmere and Oztumer is a similar player to him...always buzzing between the lines, can cross and never afraid to shoot.Kap10 said:
Good luck to him, although I think he is too small for Championship level, I hope he has the chance to prove me wrong.shirty5 said:Good win for Welling last night away at Lincoln. They have now broken the 50 point barrier. Well played.
A 4 - 0 stuffing for Bromley at home to Dover Athletic, but still top of the Conference South by 2 points.
Ebbsfleet stay in 3rd spot after a 2-0 away win at Tonbridge Angels
A 2-1 away win for VCD Athletic takes them 9 points clear at the top of the Ryman League North
Dulwich Hamlet's Erhan Oztumer is on trial at Championship side, Burnley
Meanwhile despite 3 successive defeats Dulwich continue to lead the Ryman Prem, but it is likely that Wealdstone will overtake them with games in hand and place Dulwich into the playoffs.0 -
Apparently, neither managed to comply with a 5pm thursday deadline so......the league gave them more time to rake up some cash. Hereford have had this coming for years, but continue to field a full time squad even though they can't afford to pay the wages. Nice to see financial fair play filtering down into non league so nicely. The message being a level playing field is'nt necessarily the best way forward.0

Erhan Oztumer joins Peterborough on a 2 year deal0
