Finished 3-1 to East Thurrock, all the goals in the first half. Dulwich were never in it really.

Dulwich were terrible for much of the match. East Thurrock were a proper bustling side and deserved promotion, and off-the-field they handled a record crowd of 1,661 (they usually get 300-ish) brilliantly.

Dulwich never turned up and were beaten by three good corners that were assisted by strong winds. They were awarded a penalty just before halftime which was saved before the rebound was put in. A second half rally brought no reward before Thurrok took controls and deservedly won.

Traffic there and back was pretty ok, so home by 6.00

It was surprisingly easy by train too, was home before 7.

Had a great day out at Wembley yesterday watching FC Halifax beat Grimsby 1-0 in the FA Trophy Final. It's the first time the Shaymen have been to Wembley so it was a great result.

22k Hereford fans there for the Vase final beforehand apparently.

Not sure, we stayed in the pub until it was time to watch our game so did not watch both. Sounds about right because the joint attendance was given as just under 47k and Halifax and Grimsby shifted about 11k each so there was about 22k in the ground for the Trophy final.

Yep there was. I was in the much much lower Morpeth crowd. Fantastic game. Hereford scored in the first minute and I thought it was going to be an embarrassing walk over but Morpeth came back and won 4-1. I went with a group of Morpeth fans who, like all the other Morpeth fans, thought they would lose but it would be a good day out. Happy days!

Agree it was great value. Surprised that not more watched both matches. I'd go again.

I did think the 'IN COD WE TRUST' banner was funny though.

I went along too and had a great day. The first game was brilliant, the second less so but definitely not complaining as we sat in the Club Wembley seats and I paid £25 with my son only £1. No hassle getting on a tube either way and it was very refreshing (although I was a bit envious) to witness football fans having a good time not against Charlton.

As another poster said, I would definitely look to go again next year.

The German non-league finals are stretched out over a whole day and shown live and free on TV. Dulwich Hamlet's sister club, Altona 93, have just kicked off in the Hamburg final against Eintracht Norderstedt (and have just gone 1-0 up thanks to some hapless Norderstedt defending). https://www.ndr.de/sport/live/index.html

(The whole lot are being shown here: http://www.sportschau.de/fussball/allgemein/uebersicht-tag-des-amateurfussballs-100.html)

Lots of movement at Hamlet Dann Carr has returned after playing at Huddersfield and Cambridge but not quite breaking through. Think he was released by Powell at Udders.

I Ethan Pinnock has left for the national league.

Another oldie from Hamlet -- Ehrun O. had left Peterborough for Walsall, proving that it was either agent talk or Pardew pissing him around with the rumour he was going to Palace

Would imagine he'll only take Coombes with him, unlike last time he left and took half the team.

Maybe so, but a right kick in the bollocks though.
Was looking forward to a decent run, but don't see it now.
Think the team will be depleted and only see a Hemel win this weekend (11/10).
I hope I am proved wrong though.

Definitely a kick in the bollocks and piss poor from JD in my view.
  • The thing is, he wasn't under any contract (as far as I am aware).
That is piss poor form from MG in my book.
I would have least give him and Ade until the summer.
Or maybe they didn't want one, just wanted an opportunity to be in the shop window.
  • That is piss poor form from MG in my book.

    Stupid at the very least...

    (1) It gave Day no security so has gone at the first opportunity for that security
    (2) if he was under Contract then Gillingham would have been forced to give Welling compensation!!
  • But like I mention, was he offered a contract and turned it down?
Before we draw conclusions, these kind of questions need answers first.
  • Bloody hell, guess who's just popped up on the Welling site.
Scroll down to nearer the end.
