surely Dulwich is nearer Palace than Charlton, too near the stripey Nigels for me0

Not much in it. 2.2 miles from The Den, 4.4 miles from South Norwood Sainsbury's, 5.4 miles from The Valley.northstandsteve said:surely Dulwich is nearer Palace than Charlton, too near the stripey Nigels for me
I go to Dulwich and usually stand with a couple of other ex-CAFC season ticket holders. You get a few Palace down there, but no more than of any other club. Plenty of Millwall and Chelsea fans down there too.0 -
definately aint going far to near fuckin Millwall0

Real Charlton go Welling4

I'm there Saturday....0

Plenty of Charlton go Dartford as well - I have season ticket at Darts - doing rather better than Welling these days ;-)Robbo on the wing said:Real Charlton go Welling

But the ground is made from the modern day stadium blueprint, even if is A4 version rather than A0 :-)0

Will you be tuffing it out on the terraces or from the corporate section with Mr Mehmet?BlackfenLen said:I'm there Saturday....

Hmmmm - each their own - I go to quite a few away matches as well and some of the grounds are pretty rough - PVR isn't the worst, but it's not the best - I'll take Princes Park all day longRobbo on the wing said:But the ground is made from the modern day stadium blueprint, even if is A4 version rather than A0 :-)
Then again - it's what happens on the pitch that counts !!0 - Sponsored links:

Ha, ha. Liking this Mr Flashheart.
See you next season :-)0 -
Make you right there - Welling won't go down - we will probably be in play offs - however either Maidenhead or Shitfleet will go up via play offsRobbo on the wing said:Ha, ha. Liking this Mr Flashheart.

If we did by some miracle go up, we haven't got the money to stay there and quite a few of our players have said that they will have to leave as they can't commit to the travelling
Still - going to watch non league and my local team has given me faith in football again - good proper English style football - non of that poncy Champions league tosh !!!1 -
Couldn't agree more. Went to Margate Boxing Day. Welling hammered them (Coombes hat trick). In the clubhouse afterwards, brilliant day.
My son got given the match ball for helping before KO gather the stray balls during shooting practice.
It is the simple things like that, that make it all worthwhile.
That and the fact that you can see every penny is spent wisely.
Good luck in the play offs.0 -
I'm not that confident that welling will stay up tbh. An 11 point gap has become 5 in a matter of days. Will do well to get a point from the next 2 games (one of them being at Ebbsfleet)Lordflashheart said:

Bath away last game of the season coupled with Wiltshire centre parcs.
Nothing definite, but has crossed my mind.1 -
I think they will have just enough quality to survive - Bishops Stortford are abysmal, Margate were the worst side I have seen at Princes Park this season - 3rd bottom spot is between Gosport and Whitehawk I think - Welling deserved a draw against us at Princes earlier in the season - less said about the return fixture at PVR the better !!!DaveMehmet said:

Add in swapping ends at half time, drinking on the terraces (but not at Dartford though grrrr) and every non league ground has it's resident nutter, what's not to likeRobbo on the wing said:Couldn't agree more. Bet your boy was made up being given match ball
Sadly I can't see me going back to a season ticket Charlton - won't go anyway at moment due to the Belgians - when they are gone I will do a few games a season - however I'm enjoying the non league far too much1 -

True it's only 1 place left to fill, the bottom 2 are gone. Having been a Charlton fan for so long has instilled natural pessimism.Lordflashheart said:

I see non league gaining momentum.
Maidenhead/Ebbsfleet will get a 3k + crowd
This is for sixth tier football0 -
Season we went down from premier league, I had season ticket - 3 games in I turned to my Dad (who I sat next to - he still goes) and said 'this team is shit - we're going down' - he thought I was nutsDaveMehmet said:

Later that season I would walk down East Hill in Dartford to get train to the match thinking 'why am I doing this - it's just gonna piss me off for 90 minutes'
The decline i.e. me and Charlton started there.....
I didn't even go to the last 4 home matches
Agreed that was a crap team and I've seen many crap Charlton teams over the years (and some very good ones as well I stress) - but it just didn't feel right anymore
Always an Addick though1 -

If you are insinuating that I only started going to Charlton when we were in the premier league, then you can stick it where the sun don't shine.Covered End said:

Not that I have to justify to you my history of support, my first match was in 1976 (aged 6 don't know or remember the game though - my dad doesn't either) - watched through late 70's and 80's of very average sides - but despite leaving the Valley my favourite Charlton side ever was the side that got to Div 1 at Selhurst
I'm no fucking glory hunter
Is that ok with you ?????? (not that I give a toss for your opinion)4 -

I'll be at Hamlet on Saturday, get to a few games a season as I live in Peckham now but I think this might be only the second Dulwich game I've been to this season but I'm looking forward to it.0

It will all end in tears at Billericay - how many times have we seen clubs at this level get a rich owner with grandiose ideas, only for it to end in dustRobbo on the wing said:I thought he was due at Charlton at some point in his career?
