The tv is reporting that the player Michy Batshuayi whos agent is Christophe Henrontay, not this lady is being reported to uafa in trying to get the player transfered after signing an exteded contract at the begining of the season.Charlton owner RD is not happy with the agent. Also next week a meeting between Standard and another Belgium club plus lawyers trying to sort out if Standard can claim money 1.65million euro for injurey to one of its players. Looks like RD knows who to appoint.....Wise move by him.
Yeah a bit of fun and all that. Ha ha n stuff. I would feel well pissed off if Katrien were my daughter/sister/wife/friend and in her new venture there was a constituency that only focussed on her gender, rather than focussed on whether she was going to do a good job as a capable person. I would be pissed off it were my relative, and I confess to feeling embarrassed about the sexist and borderline misogynist stuff on here towards our new director. Yeah I know political correctness gone mad, but some of the reaction really does lack class and is not saved by any humour. I guess Katrien can fight her own battles, it is just wearisome that she may still have to be mindful of the lumpen attitude of some.
I think that's one of the things that makes it a difficult story for the club, but it doesn't change the fact - and it's a function of the fact - that there are few women in senior positions in English men's professional football - fewer than in business generally.
More generally, I wonder whether a Belgian lawyer is as well placed as an English lawyer to exercise her core professional expertise in England, albeit ability is clearly transferable. I don't know enough about the law to know though.
She was introduced to staff at The Valley as sporting director - I think it likely she is Roland Duchatelet's ear on the ground more generally. If so it's no surprise and perfectly reasonable he should want one, but the failure to use the title in the statement suggests they may be having second thoughts about the description.
She studied law here, as well as time in Paris and, primarily, RD's old University too.
She worked for two of the largest US law firms in the world (one of which is a client of mine) and another major UK firm (Olswang) in Competition Law. Her English will be perfect and, whilst I don't put too much store by LinkedIn endorsements, she seems very well thought of. You need to be very good to work in the Firms mentioned and they would be dealing in major cross-border transactions in her specialist area of the law. I have no doubt that she could work here in her area, but that's not what she's here to do.
Very new to football, only joining Liege in September, but wouldn't be surprised if she had acted on transactions for RD at some stage before that. Very much the norm to move into the corporahat world that way for a lawyer.
Good luck to her!
Thanks. She seems a bit overqualified for Prothero's role, while Slater's is hardly relevant. Sporting director or not, I think she's here to see what's what. Should be interesting.
Not really AB (the overqualified bit) She's only been a lawyer for a few years - 6 months as a trainee at W&C and then 2 associate roles (non-Partner) in Olswang and then Bakers totalling 2 years 8 months.
That's a good pedigree though and I am sure you're right in that she's here to have a watching brief for RD.
its all bollox, she is only doing the job to piss me off, it was a bit of summer fun last year, that's all no strings I said don't get attached, and all will be ok just grown up adult fun
now the bitch saw my tattoo and has only gone and got the job to piss me off
stalking is what I call it, that's why I never rang her
To me this is positive. CP "boss, half my team is out of contract as am I and my management team." RD "my best lawyer is on her way to get these sorted." Simples!
she text me this morning and said to get to the chairmans office now !!!!!!!!!!! it had a selfie in a cafc shirt and things in places i cant say on here

On that note, although I consider my victim was more Slater than Katrien, I did let the surrealist part of my nature run away with me a little by suggesting that they could be one and the same person (has anyone seen them in the same room?) Whoops I'm doing it again!
Enough now. Katrien's background (City and international firms on her cv) suggest that she is potentially very capable of doing the job.
If she proves herself unable subsequently then any criticism on my part will be because of that and not her sex.
I'm the father of 3 daughters all of whom have been encouraged to reach out and strive for what they can.
Len its like the Masons you have to go through the dark valley to the east and wear leather aprons etc---be recommended by people and chop ur gonads off if you tell anyone they were Jack The Ripper !
Good luck to her but she looks like she has moved around a bit too much already for my liking in her short legal career to date. If her cv ended up on my desk I would be a bit suspicious of that especially whether she could hack it at the hire and fire 9 days a week 30 hour a day US firms ."Fromage Frayer " (sic)is the expression used in legal circles for a well dressed well paid well spoken well attractive well fancied ( usually by some dull middle aged public school boy whose wife doesn't "understand" him any more ) well opinionated well kitted out ( designer glasses and Apple Mac laptop) and well effing useless lawyer. Just the type to savour devouring at a mediation ,arbitration or court hearing .I shall be watching developments very closely .

I'm no expert in the business, but I've visited her Linked In account, and I got the impression she must be talented and up and coming, which have lead to these moves, probably because they've been great opportunities for her. I don't know the firms, but to me it looks like it might be steps in the development of her career. Again, that was just my personal impression.
Is she still in her role at Standard? It will be interesting to see whether she gets herself down to SE7 regularly or whether she 'works from home' remotely in Brussels, or wherever.
So, does anyone know whether she works exclusively for CAFC or is she working for RD's entire network of clubs?
And people wonder why footballers keep quiet about their sexuality when a "community" club like Charlton can't resist going all caveman because a woman has been given a top job. This thread is an embarrassment.

@1Dev True. A missed opportunity. #CAFC had better chosen for a video interview. I'll contact KM soon and ask her about her plans.

(Could it be Slater in drag?)
or you could go on line to Linked In and and join
