I think that Les Reed is an interesting call, he was a great asset when we had him at Curbs shoulder.

Well considering Airman has said that SHE has already started work I would say it counts him out?

I just called Delia Smith to see if she could shed any light on it. She didn't tell me the new Sporting Director's name, but she told me where she lived.

RD is aiming for a seamless takeover so for consistency he's following TJ and MS's blueprint for engaging with the "customer"

I would say this is RD's first major input into the club so it will interesting to see what the outcome is. I cannot give him credit for the dome on the pitch as it had to be done to avoid being fined by the Football League.

was a fine on the cards then?

I don't think it would be surprising - or it's a particular criticism - if there is a level of uncertainty within the club about how to proceed at the moment. We seem to be in a bit of a hiatus between regimes. And the management has created its own problems in comms, with no disrespect intended to the staff.

Should speak to the club Doc about that

So I am lead to believe and the topic was mentioned on here. Don't quote me but I think FL rules state you have to keep your pitch in good nick to avoid postponements and multiple postponements are subject to a fine.

    an interregnum

    such a good word
  • Please say the club are not going down the same route as the last lot and keep things under wraps where it's just good management to inform the supporters. If a new Sporting Director has been appointed they should tell us who.

    Too soon to say that.

I'm not sure that the new regime are going to be massive fans of communciation, given that we have not had a mass of it so far. Richard Crawley tweeted that Rd is not going to be giving a press conference. I suspect that we will receive little real information but the information drought will be handled better than by TJ / MS.

maybe they're on a trial period?
  • I reckon there's been a c*ck up in communication lines already.

    It's a new SUPPORTERS' Director .

    The Football League rules say..

13.3 Each Club shall take all reasonable steps to maintain its pitch in good order. The Executive may require a Club to take such steps as the Executive shall specify if not satisfied that an adequate standard of pitch is being maintained, including but not limited to the Executive commissioning an independent report on the state of the pitch by a Club, the cost of such independent report to be borne by the Club concerned.

  • Think I can solve the reason behind the hiatus. Duchatelet only bought us to flip for a profit because the last regime would not sell to Varney, so just waiting for the next takeover to go through before announcements are made. Should really have a 'takeover' thread to be fair.

Must dash, just spotted a pig fly past the window.

The same route as the last lot. I suspect there won't be much from RD, but that wouldn't be an issue with strong local management that understand the value of communication and can be confident that they are trusted to manage. If on the other hand you operate in a climate of fear with an assumption of silence then everything of substance has to be referred up and the structure is bound to seize up as no one will take any risks.
