Right then, looks like I'm in the Saturday night out in Sheffield camp. Anyone already booked hotels and can recommend some decent cheap ones, preferably in the centre?

I stayed at jury's. It's very new, modern and a good price. There was a full blown party going on at the bar from what I could hear when I got back (couldn't see past my nose) and it's 5-10 mins walk from station.0

Travelodge on Monday night was £31, they are asking £59 for the 8th March !! .. there is an IBIS next door to the T/Lodge, check their website .. both are 5 minutes walk from the station/town centre .. these are central hotels, there are a lot just outside the centre which will be a lot cheaper0

There are a few other places about, the Leopold in the city centre is ok but can be a bit expensive, the copthorne hotel, which is on bramall lane, there's also the psalter tavern, about 1 1/2 miles from bramall lane. A bit further the other way is an ibis budget hotel near the arena0

Novotel offers rooms for 3 if that helps anyone, £89 which is where we are staying. Walking distance from the station, bramall lane, and all the bars.0
