This thread is nearly as bad as the Delort thread which was worse than the Poyet thread...

IMO I don't blame him, yes I would rather he stayed but look at players like Dean Ashton retired aged 26 due to injury
you never know how long your career will last, so players need to look at their future
    for instance:
say we offered £10K P/W on a 4 year that's just over £2 Million for the 4 years
and West Hams offer was £20k P/W on a 4 year deal that's just over £4 Million

If the worst case happens and he does suffer a serious injury he will have more money in his pocket for taking the higher offer

and if he does have a injury free career he knows that at some stage he will probably be first team for West Ham

as I say I would of loved him to stay but don't blame him at all

heaven forbid anyone has to suffer the humiliation of only living off £2 million for the rest of their lives.
never said that my point was £2 Million or £4 Million which is better, obviously £4 Million so why have 2 when you can have 4
Paulie sorry to dig you out, but that sounds like you're talking to a 5 year old, and I should know!
Some things just don't need to be said.

Sadly I am, but lying on my back with a bottle in my mouth would be a pretty good way to live.
  • Diego has tweeted that he'll be at the game today. Has anyone got a spare bench for him to sit on so he feels more at home?
  • Move on. Will be good to see an old charlton boy down there :-o

This. Personally think he is showing some class by coming along to see games this season. Second one now.

And yes I would like to see him back on loan......

Why does anyone for one second belive Diego is coming back on loan

I think it was his 'tweet' about returning to pastures old, which 'I think' was referring to him coming back to see Gomez, but people took it as meaning he was coming back to play, probably as captain and becoming our top scorer in their tiny minds.
When did he tweet that ?

Yes he was there, you'd think he could have bloody well offered to give
    @charltonaddickedmatt
    a lift from Orpington.
  • Not even on the bench for the hammers tonight. Reckon he will go on loan. Could it happen??

To us? not a chance in hell.

But if a prem youngster goes out on loan to the Championship and he only moved from a champ club the summer before, he would go back to his old club in any normal situation.

I will be furious if the plumbs who have been slagging him off on twitter stop us getting a Buyens / Poyet centre midfield (which is promotion class) and he joins Brentford or someone.

I honestly think that with a midfield of JBG, Buyens, Poyet and Cousins / Bulot we would have a real chance of promotion.
  • I'm watching West Ham Hull now, would be interesting to watch Poyet play to see if he would make a difference, West Ham looking like they will deffo be in the relegation scrap.

Would be funny if we got in Poyet on a season long loan, go up and West Ham go the other way. Unlikely though.

Also I didnt ask who was winning but if hulll were superior. You can be the better team and lose a match. Anyone that thinks hull are any better than west ham no nothing about football. That means both of them up for relegation. Must be music tonthe ears of palace burnley and qpr.

No, but I'd say Hull are generally a better side. They aren't playing their best at the moment though.

Not that I mentioned Hull being better anyway, I just don't rate West Ham and they would be in my top5 relegation candidates list.
  • Jenkinson on for West Ham just now.

If we get him on loan and a striker to compliment Igor then we are genuine promotion contenders in my eyes.

You must watch a lot of hull and west ham to determine who is generally the better side.

When two teams are playing and you say one of them us relegation candidates you dint need to say you think the other on is better. Its a given. What is probably more correct is you dislike west ham more than you do hull.

Thought that was a good game tbh, Valencias goal was a beaut. Great effort by Hernandez too.

I would warm a bit more to Poyet on loan if he was an apologetic sap and improved us, think it would be very harsh to exclude the players we have now after what he did though. Definitely a double edged sword situation if he did end up here again.

Edit: pretty much ate my words too, thought West Ham really stepped up second half and passed well and with intent.

2 poor teams based on what i've seen so far in the prem. West Ham and Hull must be hoping there are 3 worse teams than themselves this season.Gary Neville suggested the same.
