I think we can pull it off. Once a few start singing others will follow...
I know of 10-12 lads who are loud who are moving down there. I tell ya mate. 40- 50 lads who know how to sing are loud. I don't care what team you are you will hear them especially that close to the south.... Others will follow suit.
But the question is: Can we show the north upper how to sing VFR at the proper tempo?
it'll kick off if we play the scum and then nick a late winner the A block is usually empty and reserved for the scum fans who get in the wrong stand !
Just bought my tickets for East Block A. 1 concession and 2 adults. What a bargain. Sorry to leave Covered End Upper though. Hope I have done the right thing.
Im just hoping that the 4 complet twats who sit behing me in the NU decide to go to A block. I wont have to put up with all the moaning about Wilson, Hamer, And basically the complete team every home game
when the prices came through my door i knew this would happen. usually sit at the other end of east block but with those prices if it doesn't work out i can just sit in my normal seat. i mean how often do we sell out?

Exactly. £150 just gets you through the door. East stand will Be a good crack A block is almost sold out... Going to be some good noise going on...
As long as some numpty doesn't think he can move along to my block, stand up, sing obsenities all game and generally be a pain in the arse I don't mind but I fear this could happen especially if we attack the Covered End second half and fans decide to shuffle along a block or two to be nearer the action.

The club have already said, that they are wise to the pay £150 & sit elsewhere brigade.
They will surely have stewards, enforcing you sitting in the block that you've paid for.
I doubt the Club were wise to it in the same way they weren't wise to the Crossbars fiasco. Now they have seen on here the penny has dropped.
There is no way that CAFC can realistically stop people shifting seats now and it will be no different next season.
The costs of extra stewards and/or fences would just increase cost and be impractical in any case. H + S also means there needs to be open access to toilets and exits so fans can just wander down the back of the stand.
I doubt it will be a problem as few will actually move during games and if they sit in someone else's seat they will be told politely to move and being Charlton fans they will.
The real issue is the if people are giving up a 300 ST in the north to buy a 150 ST in block A CAFC need to sell one extra new ST to recoup the money lost by the movers just to retain the same income.
And that's not figuring in that many "new" ST holders in Block A will be those who were buying match tickets so the Club will be done on that income.
The arguement is that more people equals more beer/food/programme sales but that has been calculated, after tax and cost of sales, at an extra £1 per person per game.
I wouldn't be surprised (if we stay in this league) to see the ST numbers increase next year by about 10%, though the income from sales drop by £1m - the various offers are just too good in some parts of the ground.
I have bought my tickets in East Stand Block A because it was a bargain. It is cheaper than the Covered End Upper. A company offers me a product, I buy it or I don't. That's how capitalism works doesn't it. Anyway, I have been saying for years that the Jimmy Seed Stand has an advantage acoustically - the West and East Stand have frequently said they haven't heard the home support. Well, from next season at least, hopefully, the East Stand will be able to hear me and the rest of A Block over the sound of the away fans. Thanks for listening!
I can't wait for the moaning on here about them scallywags in A block next season.
'I've sat in the east stand since 92 and never in my life have I blah blah blah blah blah blah blah'
It'll end in tears. The A blockers will start to suffer from an inferiority complex because they have chosen to align themselves with the seat equivalent of the Dacia Sandero rather than the Rolls Royce of seats available in the West Upper. Then they'll realise that their collective noun sounds like a drug to control bladder problems. They'll reject use of the Charlton Sword flag, adopting a hammer and sickle version, start using the Russian language, hold a referendum demanding their independence and insist upon joining the Russian Federation. Putin, fearing for their safety amongst all the right-wing fanatics, will parachute in Russian special forces masquerading as the Red Army's version of the Red Devils display team. They will occupy the toilets and food and bar kiosks at the far end of the East Stand, put in their own staff and barricade off the whole area. Meanwhile, the club will retaliate by announcing sanctions. The A blockers season tickets will be cancelled, away travel and Valley Express rights will be withdrawn and a large barrier will be installed ensuring that the pitch cannot be seen from that end of the stand. On the plus side, Airman will be able to launch a Russian language version of VOTV.

It's going to get messy.
Already expecting at least 100 complaints about the amount of smoke in the east stand toilets

Will they have a steward at every block entrance asking to see tickets? If so that could be a nightmare two minutes before kick off.
