The reasoning is that the magic spells that are embedded in the wall extend well beyond the wall's physical reach.

Well apart from when the Hound Clegane looked into the flames and saw the white walkers passing round the sea end of the wall? Or did I dream that bit?
Presumably something (like Bran being marked) makes that possible for the first time. They've not walked around it before (p'raps you were asleep for the Broadbent/ Wall speech last week!).
    Bloody useless Bran.
Admitting to watching his sister get raped was particularly grim last night.

Is the one thing that all Charlton fans agree with that Bran is rubbish ?
Basically it is all Bran's fault. I guess we'll have to wait and see what his final play is, but if fan theories are to be believed he is going to fuck a whole lot more stuff up before he comes close to redeeming himself.
  • Isn't Bran the person who built the wall in the first place?

He's just a mental time traveller basically.

Thing is, I can't quite reconcile those theories with the all-new Doctor Branhattan. He's so all-knowing I don't see how he'd make such major mistakes.

    All-seeing, rather than all-knowing.

Access to information might give him knowledge, but it won't necessarily bring him wisdom.

The tit had seen quite a bit when he decided to go off to vision world without the Three Eyed Raven and stand around gawping next to the Night King.
  • Yeah well explained, Neil. He's still acting quite smug and know it all though!

Perhaps he knows he must allow the army of the dead south of the wall so the whole of Westeros believes in them and turns their attentions to fighting them.
  • Who's fault is it?

I've called him bran flakes for years and celebrate every ep without him in it. He's got worse and unfortunately his storyline is required for the final few episodes I'm sure.. Gutted.

I can't believe you lot have ignored the most important part of that whole episode..........Bronn is back, he may have only been sitting on a horse at the front of the Lannister army but he is back.

forgot about that but it did put a little smile on my face when I saw him

The Lannisters are going to get fucking toasted next week, I can feel it in my movements

I have a feeling Bronn, Jaime and Tyrion will end up in the same room and they'll need to make a choice there and then. Not necessarily next episode, but soon.

I also feel Littlefinger is going to do something to really mess things up soon.

I think Littlefinger still has a great shot at the title. That "see every angle" speech was a big clue. He's been the butt of Sansa's jokes and Jon's throttling, but that scene showed he's still got the moves, and I suspect he's on his way back up the ladder now.

I also think Danearaysyays's little speech about being born to sit on the throne means she never will (I think she'll have to choose dealing with the Night King over being queen). Maybe Sansa and Littlefinger will fill the void.

As long as Littlefinger does not fill Sansa's void!

I see Sansa will find out about Littlefinger's deal with the Boltons and Arya is about to return to Winterfell. I don't hold out much hope for him to get to the Throne.

Surely if Bran can see everything he can tell his siblings that it was basically Littlefinger who got Ned killed?

I don't think he's going to come out with too much family related as he's becoming more the 3 eyed raven and less Bran and therefore is more concerned with the bigger picture than with details relating to his old life

  • Danny needs someone to do some reconnaissance with a dragon, perhaps Jon could help there since he has the right bloodline, or am I overthinking it?

If Jon were legitimate he would be king. I think eventually all that will come out but not just yet.

    Rumour has it, he will....

    POTENTIALLY HUGE
Apparently the Hound, Jon, Tormund and Berric (and his mate) along with a couple of nobodies will make it beyond the wall for one last trip. Berric, Tormund and the Hound will barely survive... Someone is left behind
IF these rumours are to be believed...

IF YOU READ THIS DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT... I TAGGED IT RIGHT AND EVERYTHING.

  • I'm convinced jon will die at the last episode/penultimate episode. It would fit in with GRRM's wishes that a song of ice and fire will have a bitter sweet ending. Either that or as part of a truce with the night king jon has to go north with the army of the dead as a prisoner/hostage. So jon will never be able to enjoy what he fought for.

That'd just be a bitter ending surely? Jon is everyone's favourite that I discuss GOT with. Would the Knight King be satisfied with just Jon? I think he wants to take all of Westeros.

We don't know the night king's motivations. Why does he come down for this winter? Does the night king, like the three eyed raven need a new host? Although we know he was created by the children of the forest, we dont know much else about him. In fact, very early on we saw the white walkers take a baby and change them into a white walker.. so maybe it is possible.

I'd also say all of the major characters (Jon, daenerys, jaime..) will fit in with elements of azor ahai/prince that was promised but jon will be the one remembered in legend, much like how today's mythical stories are probably a merging of various characters in history. To be like that he'd have to die/disappear in mysterious circumstances and say something like "I promise i'll come back".

"Would you mind hopping on one of my absolutely insane dragons mate and flying over very dangerous enemy territory to have a gander?"

The moment we see Jon, Dany and Tyrion flying the dragons will be brilliant.
