Only four comments thus far... I expected a bit more discussion as I enjoyed last night's episode. It was one of those that set the scene for so many loose ends coming together, bringing old characters back and pushing the general arc forward. Will they come together the way it seems from this episode, or will there be one or two twists still to come? Dun dun duhhhhhh.
Wait until everyone is home from work and has watched it
I loved it, ended up watching it this morning at half 2 due to unusual circumstances
Thought the bit where Gilly was going to reveal all about Jon and then Sam got all ranty and shouted her down was great - the script writers clearly having a little tease there.
Still think Sam is going to find something in one of the books he took about how to make Valyrian steel and now Gendry has been confirmed alive I'm even more convinced he's going to be the one who figures out how to make it again. I forget who said it, but there was some line about Jon not needing a blacksmith well he will it they're going to make Valyrian steel.
The motley crew going north of the wall are surely going to see some epic action, wonder which one(s) aren't going to come back.
Will Cersai's street smarts allow her to outmaneuver Daenerys or will Tyrion spot what she's up to a advise Daenerys well? The battle for the seven kingdoms will, I think, come down to who manages to play the smartest hand out of Cersai and Tyrion, or will Little Finger out smart everyone?

Yeah that was great. And it could be a bit more than that, with Jon now confirmed to be a legitimate son and therefore, by Dany's own logic, the heir to the throne! Also Bran may only know who Jon's mother is, it may require Gilly to fill in the gap.
I did think Jon finding out about Arya and Bran via a raven was not ideal. I remember the LOST writers struggling to move characters around the island in the final season, I bet that's happening here too. Having Jon meet them by surprise would've been ideal, but they needed him to go north too quickly to allow for that. Wish they'd given themselves more episodes to tell this story!!
In the trailer you see Jon fleeing on a horse away from an absolute mass of undead.
Wouldn't be surprised if Benjen Stark finally dies (again?) next episode. Where the others go is anyone's guess as there's no way they kill 7 major characters , unless they escape with Dany?
Rob Baratheon killed Jon's father with a hammer like that...
Personally I think that gendry is going to get himself killed quite quickly. Look at that other tarley son that got himself killed, he was heroic in a wannabe way but very quickly got himself killed by being like that. Gendry is doing the exact same thing.
It only feeds my thirst to see a Roberts rebellion flashback where he is wearing his stag helmet and huge hammer though. Sounds so incredibly badass.
I actually really enjoyed this episode, if reminded me of the older season 1-3 episodes where there were a lot of talking about the past building up the lore and almost nostalgia about things whilst also driving the story forward.

I am sure whatever happens Littlefinger will end up alongside whoever wins the throne.

Surely Gendry's gonna be in charge of smelting and fashioning the dragon stone/Valerian steel armoury?
Jesus Littlefinger. It's easy to win a chess game if no other fucker is playing anymore. I feel (I hope) that this time might be one pointless scheme too far and that'll be the end of his weird corner nonsense.
I feel like it's not a good time to be Tormund either.

Absolutely no way Littlefinger lasts this season. After everything Sansa and Arya have been through he has no chance of separating the Starks.
I can't see Tormund going before another Brienne encounter , but I don't think he survives season 8.
Yep, I paused it and all I could make out was joffrey and "killed by boar" - which means Robert and "your faithful sister" so means robb almost certainly.
I've personally hatched a theory that arya isn't arya at all, but the waif from the many faced god temple. Arya told her who was on her list, then would explain why no one didn't give a shit and let her leave when she said "I'm arya stark, and I'm going home". Maybe she took her face after killing her?

Got a feeling next week is going to be a fantastic episode, white walkers always make good episodes.
Then a big politics-y showdown in the last week to set up the 'final' people v WW showdown of Series 8.

If you're worried about Cersei taking territory if you go to fight the White Walkers, then just plonk a guard dragon in her way.

I only caught a glimpse of "flesh wounds" and "killed in battle".

Just to put my head on the right track, Jon is the son of Ned Stark and who? I've read the books but now I'm a little lost on this
