  • Amazingly have a seat on mine from Lee, the 8.38, and they've called HGR as the next station... However this was the last train before the disruption. Still delayed a fair way I'm sure

No cycling today as have cricket after work. Couldn't get on the 132 at Eltham because it was rammed, so now on my second bus to North Greenwich.

I swear there must be a correlation between days I don't cycle and days the trains are shite.
  • Bexleyheath line is knackered. How can an incident at Hither Green result in Bexleyheath to Charing Cross trains being cancelled!
  • This is what happens when you lay in bed all morning.
If you got up earlier you wouldn't have this problem.

Bexleyheath line is knackered. How can an incident at Hither Green result in Bexleyheath to Charing Cross trains being cancelled!

    Couple of reasons:

    1) given everything bottlenecks at London termini, there's disruption generally that end from delayed HG trains

    2) trains don't go up and down lines (a driver explained this to me). So they'll go into London on one line, out on another, maybe go back in or go round or go depot, so on. (in hindsight he didn't explain very well) - EDIT which means some trains on the HGR line that would have then gone on to the Bexleyheath line obviously aren't getting there in time

Agree. The 6.44 from Sidcup was fine.
  • Fair play for them for taking out the morning trains and not the afternoon ones.

    Yet...
  • On the 0921 bexleyheath line. Zooming along. No heating on. Almost enjoyable.
  • My train was pretty empty this morning, think a fair few people have decided that work is not the place to be on a 30+ degree day.

  • Just about to pull into bexleyheath, train nice and quiet and the little fans above the window are even working.

  • Have to say, the walk from London Blackfriars to Whitechapel was simply lovleh this morning. Made a nice change. Until I got to Whitechapel.

ah yeah, you're probably right....forgot about that thread!
  • My train was cancelled and the one after was marked as delayed (no time expected just delayed) so Went and got the DLR, was going busy (apart from being as busy as a rush hour train in Mumbai) until we got to Canary wharf, we were told it was being rerouted to Woolwich Arsenal. WTF?

Southeaster, TFL, cunts the lot of them.

As it has already been said, just because a train starts at say Orpington, and runs up to Charing Cross, it doesn't automatically go back to the same place, it may go to say Dartford, then back up to Cannon Street etc etc.

The same applies for the driver, who doesn't always stay with the same train all day. A Dartford driver may take one train to Cannon street, then catch another train as a passenger over to Charing Cross, drive to Sevenoaks, up to Blackfriers etc.
  • i genuinely wonder if this sort of shit goes on in other capitals around the world an incident that happened over 8 hours ago. ffs
  • Doing all you can eh? Does that include investing in new trains and extra carriages to reduce the ridiculously high number of "Train failures" that you encounter, and to lessen the number of delays caused by overcrowding? I thought not.

I don't believe you're doing anything in addition to your usual pathetic effort, except for Tweeting more often. Arseholes.

  • Signal probs outside Cannon St,just cancelled the 1610 Crayford train
  • The world has changed for someone and their family but lets worry about getting home on time.
  • Signal failure outside Charing Cross now
  • Glad I sacked it off this morning and came home. Now sitting in the paddling pool with an ice cold beer.
  • Stuck on a train outside Charing X. Trying to get home.

Wonder what will happen if (when) somebody colllapses from heatstroke from being stuck in a tin box for stupid amount of time.

Hottest day of the year, absolute disgrace, as normal.
  • Assume these signal failures are caused by the excessive heat?

  • I still have a policy that I like every post that uses the term Cunt's, Arsehole's, twat's or in fact any derogatory term for a rail service provider.

I feel it helps. A bit like therapy!

At Waterloo east it still says delays of up to 40 mins due to person being hit by train. Other board says delays of 30 mins due to signal problems. Staff sending people to wrong platform to wait for train. I'm on a train that stops at hither green then fast to new eltham. My car is in lee. How's my luck. :(
