Tonight there is a problem with lineside equipment. Got that one on your list Mr Largo? New one for me.

Some lazy prick left his lunchbox next to the tracks then
  • My bike is broke (again), so had to get the train this morning.

    - Train was delayed because the train in front had an issue.
    - Train in front eventually pulled up at the platform and kicks off all the passengers.
    - After a period of time driver comes down the platform shutting all doors individually (I guess to make sure everyone was off the train).
    - Train eventually leaves.
    - My train turns up.
    - My train decides to Terminate at London Bridge.

In short, try to avoid getting a train until my bike is fixed as I seem to have shit luck with life.

Wow! No, wasn't on my list, they must have only just thought of that one, the crafty tossers.

Very ambiguous, and during the many months I've spent sitting stationary somewhere in South London due to congestion in the London Bridge area, I don't recall ever looking through the window and seeing anything that I would describe as "lineside equipment".

Guessing one of their train drivers has spotted a broken lawnmower in one of the gardens that backs onto the line just outside Hither Green - "better safe than sorry lads, if that thing explodes it could take out everything within a two foot radius. Cancel everything and put the kettle on, you can't be too careful."

    Robbing, feculent vermin.

The article mentions about making more space on trains, does that mean less seats and more standing?

Eventually it will be standing only - the next step to making it 100% cattle class.

No way, have you seen the requirements for cattle class?

  • Delays at Lewisham this morning. Out of tune piano on the line apparently.
  • Just when I thought retirement had ridden me of hordes of Chinese students clogging the trains up at New Eltham, when they descend on Dover Priory at 10am this morning all trying to tap out with Oyster Cards.

It was hilarious, bit like a scene from a Benny Hill sketch with the station staff trying to gain order.

No heating on the train to Ramsgate this morning. Fantastic once again Southeastern.
  • Funny that. My train is absolutely boiling today. Like a sauna.

I reckon that because the heating isn't working in yours they've turned it up on all other trains to ensure the average temperature across all trains isn't affected! ;)

Been sat stationary for 12 minutes, not one word of advice or information from the driver about how late they're going to make me for work today.

Imagine if a bus driver pulled up at the side of Woolwich Road and just sat there while traffic continued to go past, not saying anything, not doing anything - people would be going ballistic at him. But this fu#+*r's got his own little lock up cabin, so he can just sit there infinitely, reading the paper, scratching his arse, picking his nose.

Need to get away promptly tonight, so no lunch for me today. Thanks lads, you toxic arseholes.

To be fair, it's not like I'm paying a fortune for the service, they're entitled to the occasional off day. Oh wait, I am actually paying a fortune, and everyday is an off day.

    Tossers.

There heating is usually on at full in the summer and not working when it's freezing cold by the sound of things.

signalling problem on Bexleyheath line this morning, funny how these signals know its Monday and its cold, nothing to do with staff absence (my arse)
  • Caught the train this morning without having to show my travel card due to no staff being at the station.
On arrival at cannon Street realised that I had actually left my ticket at home.
Went to the excess fare window and explained this.
Really preparing myself for a decent Monday morning argument, but was quite surprised after giving my name and address, given a slip of paper to allow me to travel with no additional costs.
i was left speechless, but pleasantly surprised.

The barrier staff at Charing Cross are disgusting, miserable, rude bastards. One lady this morning was literally shouting at an 8 year old girl from about 50 yards away because her ticket wouldn't work. Couldn't understand a single word she said through her thick African accent either. If it was my daughter i would of proper kicked off the way she was being spoken too. Not the first time ive seen them talk to customers like dirt.

Bang on. Came back from Charing Cross and the bird asked "what's that"?
I explained what it was and what the entitlement was.
She then went on to look at a mobile device she was holding.
I had two minutes to get on a Lewisham train that was due to depart.
Explained this in no uncertain terms, then just gave up as someone went through the wide aisle gate, and I followed.
  • Just been announced that train fares are going up by 3.4% in January - absolutely disgraceful how expensive public transport is in this country & despite how much it costs, how poor it can be when used on a daily basis.

Don’t want to turn this into a how crap the UK is thread, but, this country is getting worse, people are barely surviving

How can it be getting worse, so many want to come here? Let’s not worry about the strain on hospitals, transport and schools. And I’m a remainer!

Back on ‘track’, how with the stagnation of wages over the past 10 years can the ‘man in the middle’ afford inflationary price rises, let alone inflationary busting ones like this.

(I guess trading in the iPhone for a Nokia 3310 would be a start!).

The money is being made somewhere, it just doesn’t filter down as much.

Anyway, my driver this morning thinks he is in the Mallard. Was a bit concerned that the bloody thing was out of control.

  • As long as the East Kent Railway Santa Special is on time this Saturday, all will be well.

I've been sat here for about 5 minutes trying to express how I feel about this absolute fucking rip-off but words genuinely fail me!

Southeastern just blamed delays on traffic at the Dartford Tunnel - I have seen it all now!

NEW: Reports of congestion on the M25 through the Dartford Tunnel into the Dartford town and A2 near Bluewater, this is affecting train crew coming into work and some services may be delayed starting in the Dartford area.

Cheeky tossers, and why have 15 people "Liked" that post?! Weirdos! Some good comments underneath though, although BenKF01 would certainly benefit from a good kicking, or from spending a month living in a Youth Hostel from Monday to Friday:

"Your choice to pay. Stay in a hostel close to work, go home at weekends."

Maybe if their drivers took the train to work instead of driving then they'd be be on time. Oh, no wait, that definitely wouldn't work.

  • Ffs @MrLargo You made me scroll down their Twitter to look for more comedy gold. Instead the first three tweets are about this:

I just know this will affect my journey into Victoria in the morning as that's the line we take through Herne Hill. I know the works will overrun or some twat will forget to put the fecking track back and trains will be messed up.

Instead of going to bed nice and warm I've just started walking.

    Thanks.
  • Called it ffs. Stuck between Bromley South and Herne Hill.

This lot are really taking the piss today. After 3 months of slippery rail excuses due to leaf fall, today it appears to be slippery rails due to rainfall! Let's not forget, it'll be getting colder soon, and then it'll be slippery rails due to ice. And then it'll be summer, it'll get hot and apparently that means the rails get warped, so more delays.

So basically, there's gonna be about a week sometime in late spring when the weather will be just about okay for the trains to run properly, but you just know they'll pull out the new "drivers stuck in traffic on the M25" excuse.

I f&#king hate you, you twisted freaks!
  • Seriously dont get the issue

Yesterday both my trains were on time and got a seat... this morning my train was even a few mins early into Cannon Street so know all this means one thing - I'm about to get royally screwed over by the trains on an epic proportion sometime soon

    @ForeverAddickted

That's twice in two days you've posted positive things about South Eastern Trains.

There's no place for that on here. Final warning - any further breaches of protocol will result in flags being issued.

Three further breaches and you'll be sentenced to a fortnight of trying to get to Charing Cross every day over Christmas and New Year using only South Eastern's trains and rail replacement bus services.

I can't do the tweet thing here but they genuinely tweeted this morning that...

.. the 6.23 Margate to St Pancras train will be formed of 6 coaches only this morning because of damage to one of our high speed trains in October.

One can only hope they mean October this year.
  • More likely October next year. Planned damage.
